LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: America Ferrera, renowned for her role in the hit film 'Barbie', experienced a rollercoaster of emotions recently.

The actress, along with her on-screen partner Ryan Gosling, was greeted with the thrilling news of their Oscar nominations. Yet, the elation was somewhat overshadowed by the notable absence of fellow actress Margot Robbie and director Greta Gerwig from the nominations.

During an conversation with Variety, Ferrera couldn't hide her joy about her inaugural nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her character Gloria.

However, she was equally vocal about her disappointment over the Academy's apparent neglect of Robbie and Gerwig's praiseworthy contributions this year.

Still reeling from the Oscar nomination for her role in 'Barbie', America Ferrera expressed her disbelief to Variety, while also voicing her upset over the Oscar snubs for Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie.

"There was a moment where I wasn't sure if I had made it up," she stated. "And then my phone started blowing up so I figured that I must have heard it right."

"I still haven't really been able to get in my feelings because I'm still on like the top layer of 'I can't even believe that this is real,'" Ferrera went on.

She shared that her husband immediately phoned her from the car, with their children in the backseat, recounting, "He was screaming and emotional. And I just heard my kids in the back, like so confused. 'What are you screaming about?'"

Ferrera also revealed that she received messages from her 'Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants' co-stars - Blake Lively, Amber Tamblyn, and Alexis Bledel. The bond between them has remained strong since they concluded filming in 2008.

The 39-year-old actress later reacted to her colleagues' significant snubs. "I was incredibly disappointed that they weren't nominated," she shared with the outlet. "Greta has done just about everything that a director could do to deserve it."

"Creating this world, and taking something that didn't have inherent value to most people and making it a global phenomenon. It feels disappointing to not see her on that list."

Ferrera continued by referring to Robbie as a "magician as an actress."

"What Margot achieved as an actress is truly unbelievable. One of the things about Margot as an actress is how easy she makes everything look," she stated.

"And perhaps people got fooled into thinking that the work seems easy, but Margot is a magician as an actress in front of the screen, and it was one of the honors of my career to get to witness her pull off the amazing performance she did."

"She brings so much heart and humor and depth and joy and fun to the character. In my book, she's a master."
