BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA: Kevin Costner took a delightful detour into the 'Barbie' land while presenting the Golden Globes award for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy Series during the 81st annual Golden Globes Awards ceremony.

The 68-year-old actor engaged in a lighthearted conversation with America Ferrera about empowering moments in 'Barbie', according to People.

Kevin Costner says iconic 'Barbie' monologue is a 'strong message'

Reciting a bit of Ferrera's powerful 'Barbie' monologue, Costner surprised the audience after he told Ferrera, "You know, you have a scene that I really love. I think a lot of people really love that scene."

"You know, 'It’s literally impossible to be a woman.' You know that, 'You're so beautiful. You're so smart and kills me that you don't think you're good enough.' That was pretty good," Costner continued.

Stunned by the 'Yellowstone' actor's impromptu monologue, Ferrera replied, "Did you, Kevin Costner, memorize my monologue about womanhood from 'Barbie'?" to which Costner responded, "No."

"But it's an important message, and it always serves to remind me what's possible in films," he continued.

"It just reminds me that when we take our time, when we manage to get it right, when film is working at its very best, it can be about moments you never ever forget," he added.

"A look, a touch, a kiss, a speech, and you just had one of those moments. And all the actors nominated tonight know so well the power of writing that they've been gifted with and that they have the chance to live forever," he explained.

Ferrera concluded the impromptu 'Barbie' moment with a remark, "Wow. So you're not going to do the rest of my monologue right now on national television?"

Internet calls Kevin Costner's 'Barbie' monologue 'an uncomfortable synopsis'

Despite the Golden Globes audience being surprised by Costner's word-for-word recreation of the 'Barbie' moment, viewers are not impressed by his monologue.

"Why anyone thought Costner would go along with this bit is seriously dumb. This was so awkward," a user wrote on X (formerly Twitter) while another user wrote, "No he didn’t. He gave an uncomfortable synopsis."

There is no matching mumbling and long pauses. How can such a good actor be so f*****g inarticulate?", a user remarked.

However, few netizens appreciated Costner's 'Barbie' monologue at the ceremony. "He played that *perfectly*. I’m sort of hit or miss on him and acting, but that was solid," a user wrote and another user tweeted, "He's one of the very best at monologues. Seriously."
