CHICAGO, ILLINOIS: Speculation is running high about a surprise guest appearance on the closing night of the Democratic National Convention (DNC).

With the event being held in Chicago, many are guessing whether Beyonce or Taylor Swift might take the stage to rally support for Vice President Kamala Harris as she prepares to deliver her highly anticipated acceptance speech.

Beyonce or Taylor Swift? Internet abuzz with speculations

Netizens are busy with theories, fueling a guessing game that has only added to the excitement surrounding the event.

According to CNN, "During a Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee briefing for donors and lobbyists, the central question on many minds was whether Beyonce would perform right before Harris delivers her acceptance speech."

The speculation was further fueled by the fact that Beyonce's hit song "Freedom" has become a powerful anthem for Harris, resonating with both the music and the message of her presidential candidacy, which has drawn tens of thousands of supporters to her events.

Adding to the excitement, Pink is reportedly set to sing 'What About Us', while The Chicks are scheduled to perform the national anthem, according to two officials familiar with the convention planning who spoke to CNN.

Mysterious block in DNC schedule sends Internet into frenzy

The anticipation was amplified when the X handle That Gay Guy Candle Co posted, "According to CNN's @jamiegangel, there is a block in the schedule tonight, and what will occupy that block is only known by a very small group of planners."

This post quickly gained traction, with many speculating that either Beyonce or Taylor Swift might perform during this mysterious time slot.

"Ooooohh…I’m betting it’s Beyonce or Taylor, or George Bush," one user commented. Another user wrote, "Beyonce and Taylor!!!! Gaga too, hopefully!!!" as the guessing game continued to escalate.

One enthusiastic user added, "I'm just saying, if she unites Beyonce and Taylor Swift for a duet, the election is OVER. LMAO!!!"

Someone else chimed in, referencing The Chicks' scheduled performance mentioned by CNN, saying, "Someone said The Dixie Chicks…"

Surprises and speculations: What's really happening at the DNC?

As rumors swirled, some users remained skeptical. Podcaster Robert Evans, quoting the viral post, claimed the speculations were false.

He cited a source and wrote, "BREAKING: I have gotten word from a source about tonight's surprise DNC performance. They didn't get Beyonce or Taylor but locked down something bigger: 1990s ska sensations Reel Big Fish will play Vice President Harris onto the stage to accept the nomination."

Evans continued in another post, "I am getting reports that Harris plans to announce 'Ska is back' and unveil plans for the release of a mysterious 'fifth wave' at some point during her first two years in office."

Despite the differing opinions, the excitement is evident. "Truthfully, I want the DNC surprise to be Beyoncé AND Taylor. If there was ever a time to unite the country, unite the stans, and save democracy, this is it," one user posted.

"Convention officials, many of whom don’t know themselves about the closely held guest list, declined to comment," CNN reported.
