WASHINGTON: President Joe Biden's daughter Ashley Biden owes $5,000 in overdue taxes on her income from 2015, as per a tax lien docket that Fox News was able to get.

According to the December 1 document, Ashley Biden was notified by the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue that a tax lien had been placed on her property.

The government uses liens to recover funds from delinquent taxes. In this instance, Biden, forty-two, owes taxes from January 2015, the month her father served as vice president, until January 1, 2021, the day he took office as president. Ashley Biden resides in Philadelphia with her spouse Howard Krein.

Ashley Biden's legal issues

The White House did not immediately reply to a comment request from DailyMail.com. The president's and first lady Jill Biden's child is Ashley Biden.

In 2010, after being introduced by her brother Beau Biden, she began dating Krein. In Wilmington, Delaware's St Joseph on the Brandywine, the family church, they were married in 2012.

She studied social work and refrained from working in the family company. She spent years working as a social worker in Philadelphia. She introduced the Livelihood Collection, an ethically made apparel line, in 2017.

Earlier this month, her brother Hunter Biden was charged with nine federal offenses about his tax returns. Hunter Biden entered a not-guilty plea to tax charges earlier this summer after filing his tax returns two years behind schedule.

Ashley Biden has experienced other legal troubles. Two Floridians entered guilty pleas in August 2022 in connection with a plan to sell Ashley's diary and other stolen property to Project Veritas, a conservative organization.

Ashley kept the journal and other possessions in the house of a friend in Delray Beach, Florida, while she was packing to move away in the spring of 2020. The journal had writings from the time she was receiving addiction treatment.

It happened amid the 2020 election campaign. Ashley was residing in Florida, where she had been in recovery in 2019, and had not taken on a significant public role with the campaign to avoid the limelight.

Internet mocks Ashley Biden

Several internet users mocked Ashley Biden for owing $5,000 in taxes. A user wrote, "Hunter’s the favorite, Ashley. You know this," while another person mentioned, "Can't her lawyer pay those for her? Hunter's lawyer has doled out almost $5M for him."

A person also wrote, "Had to change my glasses in case I read it wrong - $5k outstanding and this is a story?" while one added, "Financially very clean family? It is not. Crooks everywhere."

Another person said, "I wanna know about all the kids and grandkids of our senators."
