WASHNIGTON, DC: During his appearance on comedian Andrew Schulz's 'Flagrant' podcast, former president Donald Trump made a statement that had Schulz bursting into laughter.

The comment came as Trump described himself as "basically a truthful person," prompting Schulz to respond through laughter, “What does that mean?”

Why did Andrew Schulz laugh at Donald Trump's claim of being 'truthful?'

The full interview, co-hosted by Andrew Schulz and fellow comedian Akaash Singh, was shared on YouTube and X on Wednesday, October 9. It featured discussions on various topics leading up to the 2024 election.

At one point in the podcast, Trump touched on Vice President Kamala Harris and her claim that he opposed in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments.

Trump dismissed Harris' accusation, stating, "I came out strongly in favor of IVF. [Kamala Harris] has an ad on that I'm against IVF. She knows it's untrue."

“She lied about many things and she's a liar. There should be some kind of a rule when they know it's a lie, you can't do a commercial on it," Trump added.

"I have a hard time doing it to them because I'm basically a truthful person." Schulz, finding the comment amusing, laughed and responded, "What does that mean?" as Trump continued to speak about Harris, reports OK! Magzine.

Donald Trump talks about Narendra Modi, says 'he's a great leader'

In another segment, Donald Trump discussed Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, praising him as a strong leader.

“Modi… India, he's a friend of mine, he's great. Before him, they were replacing them every year, very unstable. On the outside, he looks like your father, he's the nicest guy, but he's a total killer,” Trump said.

The exchange about Modi showed Trump’s admiration for the Indian leader while the his party, Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP), also noted the exchange and posted about it on X to slam opposition leader, Rahul Gandhi of Congress.

Internet reacts to Donald Trump's 'truthful' claim on podcast

Online reactions to the podcast episode were quick to follow. One user on X commented, "This was great. You can tell he is original and doesn't do prerecorded BS with talking points."

Meanwhile, Harris’ campaign shared a shorter version of the clip, with one individual reacting to it by saying, "I certainly couldn't keep a straight face with that blatant of a lie. He's the furthest from a truthful person and we see it every single time he opens his mouth."

Another online user wrote, "Trump is truthful like Loomer is sane." One mocked, "Next thing you know he's going to say he's sane."
