BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA: Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey sent an ominous warning to the violent anti-ICE protesters and ensured that they would end up losing their lives if they tried to attack one of their deputies.

During a Thursday, June 12, press conference, Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier said Florida will "never become California." His statement comes amid nationwide anti-ICE protests, as per Florida Today.

Florida sheriff warns protesters will be 'graveyard dead' if they turn violent

Talking to the press on Thursday, Wayne Ivey sent a warning to the anti-ICE protesters and said, "Peaceful protests are a part of our democracy. We invite people to share their opinions. That's what our country is all about."

"If you let it turn violent, hoooo.... you do not want to do that in Brevard County. If you hit one of us, you're going to the hospital and jail, and most likely get bitten by one of our big, beautiful dogs that we have here. You throw a brick, a fire bomb, or point a gun at one of our deputies, we will be notifying your family where to collect your remains at, because we will kill you, graveyard dead," he added.

Meanwhile, Uthmeier said Florida will be taking extra steps to protect immigration enforcement officers.

Moreover, he announced that he has appointed Agent Anthony Coker as Florida's first state-embedded representative for US Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The attorney general further said that violence committed during enforcement actions will not be tolerated in the Sunshine State.

"If you throw things, light things on fire, wreak havoc and destruction in Florida, you will do time. We are ready to ensure that it is nipped in the bud right away," he warned.

Notably, the Trump administration's increase in immigration enforcement has caused protests across the country.

Florida passed an "anti-riot" bill in 2021 stating that peaceful protesters can face criminal charges if their actions become violent.

Moreover, on June 9, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said the state has "drawn the line very clearly" between protesting and rioting, as per Florida Today.
