WASHINGTON, DC: Fox News anchor Maria Bartiromo claimed President Donald Trump has a great sense of humor while reacting to one of his comments on tariff pauses during a media briefing, during the Friday, April 11 episode of 'Mornings with Maria' on Fox Business Network.

The POTUS held a Cabinet meeting the previous afternoon to discuss the fallout of his "reciprocal tariffs" announcement, according to Mediaite. The meeting, which reportedly went on for 73 minutes, came a day after Trump announced a 90-day pause on tariffs on most countries, except China.

Why did Maria Bartiromo find Donald Trump funny?

While speaking with Donald Trump's senior counselor for trade and manufacturing, Peter Navarro, on her show, Maria Bartiromo played a clip of the president's response when he was asked by Fox Business’ Edward Lawrence about China retaliating to his tariffs by banning films made in the United States.

In the clip played by Bartiromo, the reporter is heard off-camera asking Trump, "So how close are you to the first country coming to actually make a deal with the United States over tariffs? Is it days, months?"

"Well, I think it’s very close. But you know, we have to have a deal that we like. We don’t want a deal that’s going to be a bad deal. Or I could — I could make every deal in one day if I wanted to," the incumbent said.

Lawrence followed up, "China retaliated today by reducing the number of American films that can be shown there. What’s your reaction to them now targeting cultural exports from the United States?"

"I think I’ve heard of worse things," Trump quipped in response.

As the video ended, Bartiromo gushed, "The president is so funny, I love that answer!"

China has responded to Trump's tariffs by raising its levies on US goods to 125%, according to CNN. Refusing to de-escalate the trade war, Trump raised tariffs on China to 140%.
