Laura Ingraham warns Nikki Haley 'helping Biden' by not dropping out ahead of South Carolina primary
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Lawrence Jones and Ainsley Earhardt were joined by Laura Ingraham to discuss the GOP presidential race ahead of the South Carolina primary on the February 20 episode of 'Fox & Friends.'
'The Ingraham Angle' host shared her views on Nikki Haley's campaign, which she felt was a futile effort at this point, with the candidate polling 33 per cent behind the former President just days ahead of the primary in her home state.
Laura Ingraham explains why donors favor Nikki Haley
Ingraham believes that the relationship with China has a role to play in Haley managing to draw in large donations for her presidential campaign.
Trump is more prone to add tariffs on EV components produced in China, which amounts to trillions of dollars for China, she claimed.
"When trillions of dollars are in the line for corporate interests in the United States and global interests abroad, there is going to be a lot of money pouring into both Joe Biden and the Republican candidates who seem more hospitable to those old ideas. That's why Nikki Haley has gotten so much support from those big corporate interests," she stated.
"But Biden just took in $42 million, because he has done such a great job for the average person out there," she jibed.
Laura Ingraham's opinion on Nikki Haley staying in the race
"It's hard to see what they are thinking at the Haley campaign," shared the news anchor, claiming that her supporters were unhappy at the defeat they faced in Iowa and New Hampshire.
"So in my view as a political analyst, that was the time for her to drop out and reach out to (former) President Trump," to offer her support, she said.
"She (Haley) decided to stay in (the race) because she got a huge influx of cash, and now she is about 30 points down in her home state," continued Ingraham. "A new poll shows that it's impossible for her to win on Saturday. It's not gonna happen. She knows that... She probably has a lot of consultants who are making a lot of money by telling her there is a path, if we do this or that. But there is no path."
"So right now she's really helping Joe Biden and not helping herself, certainly, if she wants to have any future in the Republican party... The time to have dropped out was really about a month ago," she added.
