Fox News’ Jacqui Heinrich marries Rep Brian Fitzpatrick in star-studded New York wedding
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Fox News senior White House correspondent Jacqui Heinrich and Republican Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick have officially begun a new chapter together after exchanging vows in a grand New York City wedding that blended faith, family history and a touch of old-New York charm.
The couple, who married on Saturday, June 20, celebrated with more than 300 guests after a traditional Catholic ceremony at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral.
“We both work in fields that can be all-consuming, and it takes a certain kind of person to understand that level of commitment,” the newlyweds said while reflecting on their relationship.
Jacqui Heinrich and Brian Fitzpatrick honored their family roots at wedding
Heinrich, 37, and Fitzpatrick, 52, exchanged vows during a full Catholic Mass officiated by Cardinal Timothy Dolan.
The couple told People that honoring family traditions was at the center of their wedding plans.
“More than anything, we wanted the day to reflect the people and traditions that have shaped our lives,” they said.
New York held special meaning for both of them. It was Heinrich's first assignment as a network news reporter and Fitzpatrick's first posting as an FBI agent.
Their family histories are also deeply connected to the city.
Fitzpatrick's grandparents immigrated from Ireland through Ellis Island, while Heinrich's great-grandparents settled in New York after arriving from Hungary.
The reception was held aboard Horizon's Edge Yacht, a tribute to Heinrich's parents, who were married aboard Boston's Spirit of Boston cruise ship.
Another personal touch came during the cake-cutting ceremony, when guests heard an Irish tune written by Fitzpatrick's great-uncle, an NYPD officer who was killed in the line of duty.
Jacqui Heinrich's wedding dress and reception embraced old New York glamour
The celebration carried what the couple described as a "Sinatra-era Americana, old-New York" feel.
Guests enjoyed a nighttime cruise through New York Harbor while a 10-piece brass band performed throughout the evening.
The yacht also passed the Statue of Liberty, creating a memorable backdrop for the celebration.
Heinrich wore a custom-designed Galia Lahav gown that transformed throughout the day.
For the ceremony, the dress featured a corseted mermaid silhouette, a lace high-neck bolero, detachable overskirt and cathedral-length veil.
Later in the evening, she removed the overskirt and veil before eventually transitioning into a strapless sweetheart gown for dancing.
The couple shared their first dance to Frankie Valli's ‘Can't Take My Eyes Off You’ before cutting into a three-tiered red velvet cake decorated with buttercream ruffles and rosettes.
Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and former Senator Joe Manchin were among those who delivered toasts during the reception.
Jacqui Heinrich and Brian Fitzpatrick's love story began on Capitol Hill
Their relationship first started while Heinrich was covering Congress and Fitzpatrick was serving in the House of Representatives.
After Heinrich moved to the White House beat, Fitzpatrick invited her to attend the Kennedy Center Honors.
“Brian affirmed he was, in fact, asking me on a date and was patient while I got permission from my bosses,” Heinrich recalled.
“He then waged a charm campaign to win me over with a series of progressively more thoughtful dates. It worked.”
She added with a smile, “He still denies being first to fall in love.”
The pair became engaged during a trip to Provence, France, last year.
Now, as husband and wife, they say their shared dedication to demanding careers has strengthened their bond.
“One of the things we admire most in each other is our dedication to our work and our sense of purpose,” they said.
Looking ahead, the newlyweds hope to start a family together, merge their households and eventually return to the South of France for a honeymoon in 2027 after an earlier trip was cut short by congressional responsibilities.
