WASHINGTON, DC: Fox News correspondent Jacqui Heinrich didn’t hold back as she slammed President Donald Trump over his March 11 Tesla "display" at the White House, calling it "an attempt to boost its stock," which continues to plunge, as reported by Mediaite.

The event featured multiple Tesla vehicles and glowing remarks from the president about his senior advisor Elon Musk's company.

The timing of Donald Trump's Tesla promotion raised eyebrows, especially after reports surfaced that Elon Musk plans to funnel $100 million into the president's political operation.

The apparent connection led to Heinrich questioning whether the White House event was appropriate, particularly given the economic strain many Americans are currently facing.

On 'Fox News Sunday', Heinrich asked Sen Bernie Moreno, "Was that an appropriate thing for the president to do there? Was it sensitive to the moment that we are in buying a car, using the White House as a — as a backdrop for that?"

Defending the move, the Ohio lawmaker stated, "He’s not the first president to do that. Most presidents have done something like that in the past."

Heinrich also brought up Tesla's own concerns about the administration's policies, citing a letter the company sent to the trade representative. She said, "It reads Tesla encourages USTR to consider the downstream impacts even with aggressive localization of the supply chain, certain parts and components are difficult or impossible to source in the United States."

Moreno defended the president, arguing that Trump "listens to a lot of people" and that his focus is on reindustrializing the country. "Given the right time frame and the right rules of the road, which we’re going to set for them, you’re going to see that boom here," the senator stressed.

The conversation wrapped up with a sarcastic remark aimed at Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a common target of conservatives. "I guess we’ll have to find out if AOC still has her Tesla or not. Senator Bernie Moreno, thank you very much for being here," Heinrich quipped.

Donald Trump turned the White House lawn into a Tesla showroom

President Donald Trump transformed the South Lawn of the White House into an impromptu Tesla showroom on March 11, staging a highly publicized display of support for Elon Musk and his electric vehicle company.

Five Tesla vehicles were delivered to the White House, parked along the driveway for Trump to personally inspect just hours after he declared on Truth Social that he planned to purchase a Tesla to express his support for Musk as his company faces blowback.

With Musk at his side, Trump admired the cars in front of cameras, calling them "beautiful" and singling out the Cybertruck for its distinctive design. "As soon as I saw it, I said, ‘That is the coolest design,'" the 78-year-old said.

Despite previously attacking electric vehicles during his 2024 campaign, Trump has since softened his stance. At one point, he sat in the driver’s seat of a Tesla Model S with Musk beside him, indicating that he planned to buy one.

"The one I like is that one, and I want the same color," Trump said, pointing to a red Model S, which retails for $73,490, or $88,490 for the Model S Plaid variant. However, the president did not take a test drive, stating he might "another time."

Trump’s public promotion of Tesla raised ethical concerns, as it is highly unusual for a sitting president to endorse a consumer product so explicitly.

Internet reacts to Jacqui Heinrich's criticism about Donald Trump's Tesla event

Fox News correspondent Jacqui Heinrich's criticism of Donald Trump’s Tesla showcase has ignited a heated debate. Many took to online platforms to slam the event, with one writing, "Yet another Trump failure," as another stated, "Trump is just a dumb failure."

"They went down because of Trump, so why would they go up because of Trump?" a person wrote, while someone else said, "Down another 6% today...$236 and falling," possibly talking about the plummeting Tesla stock.

One more asked, "Why hasn’t Trump lowered the price of eggs?" Notably, Trump had promised to bring down egg prices if elected, but they grew 59% on a year-on-year basis in February.

"Trump will go down as the greatest grifter in history. Nobody can even come close to his rancid schemes and abuses of power. When you start losing your fanbase at Fox you've lost your only sympathetic voice," another comment read.
