Trump advisor Alina Habba mocks Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's past job as bartender: 'You were in a bar...'

WASHINGTON, DC: Donald Trump’s White House advisor and lawyer Alina Habba recently called out Democratic Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) over her past as a bartender.
Appearing on Sean Hannity’s Fox News show on Thursday, March 13, the 40-year-old Counselor to the President mocked AOC’s past while discussing the New York Democrat’s intelligence and political acumen.
Hannity: Jasmine Crockett and AOC seem to be leading the intellectual thought of the party

Alina Habba reminds Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez that she was in bar to ‘serve’ drinks
As Sean Hannity and Alina Habba discussed congresswomen Jasmine Crockett and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez leading the “intellectual thought” of the Democratic Party, the lawyer made a condescending remark about the 35-year-old Democrat’s past.
“Jasmine Crockett and AOC and the Squad seem to be leading the ‘intellectual thought’ of the Democratic Party,” Hannity said.
Habba responded, “What intellectual thought, Sean? The last I saw, they’re dancing down the halls of Congress,” referencing the Democratic Party women’s viral “Choose your fighter” video.

Habba continued, “I’ve never seen anything like this, I’m watching TikToks of crazy things. They’re singing, they’re dancing.”
Hannity interjected. “Well, you didn’t see me, but I did quotes," Mediaite reported. The Fox News host continued, “And I love when AOC lectures Elon Musk about not being intelligent. I’m like, ‘Oh, she’s such a genius, I’m inspired by her every word.'”
Habba continued to mock the congresswoman for her bartending past, as she noted, “You were in the bar. You were in a bar. You were in a bar, AOC. Calm down. And not to have a drink, to serve one.”
Satisfied with the drill, Hannity laughingly replied, “Exactly.”
This is, however, not the first time that AOC has faced ridicule for her bartending job. In 2020, Hannity’s Fox News colleague Laura Ingraham mocked her, calling her “the Doctor of Mixology.”
While AOC has often faced mockery for her past, she is not one to shirk away from it.
During a fiery speech in 2019, she declared, "I'm proud to be a bartender, ain't nothing wrong with that,” before continuing, “There's nothing wrong with working retail, folding clothes for other people to buy. There is nothing wrong with preparing the food that your neighbors will eat. There is nothing wrong with driving the buses that take your family to work.”
She added, “There is nothing wrong with being a working person in the United States of America, and there is everything dignified about it."
Moreover, the congresswoman admitted that she gets “encouraged” when someone reminds her of her past.
“I, in fact, am encouraged when people remind the country of my past, not because of anything about my story, but because it communicates that if could work in a restaurant and become a member of the United States Congress, so can you,” said Ocasio-Cortez.
During the Democratic National Convention in August 2024, she further retorted back at the attacks on her past as the Boston University graduate said, “You know, ever since I got elected, Republicans have attacked me by saying that I should go back to bartending.”
She continued, “But let me tell you. I’m happy to any day of the week because there is nothing wrong with working for a living.”
Internet declares Republicans 'hate the working class'

Social media users were, however, unhappy with Alina Habba mocking Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as they reminded the White House counselor that her comment was entirely uncalled for.
One of the netizens wrote on X, "AOC went from serving drinks to writing laws. Habba went from serving Trump to embarrassing herself on national TV."

"Republicans have become so anti-worker it's amazing," added another.

"They hate the working class," declared one person.
Someone else noted, "Says the one who could barely pass the bar 🤣."
"So the implication here is that bartenders are morons?" asked another user, before noting, "I stand with our brave men and women bartenders."
