WASHINGTON, DC: Fox News host Brian Kilmeade revealed that President Donald Trump is reportedly furious with Elon Musk after the tech billionaire harshly criticized his signature tax and spending package.

Speaking on 'Fox & Friends' on Wednesday, June 4, Kilmeade said Trump was blindsided by Musk's latest tirade, which included calling the bill a "disgusting abomination" in a June 3 post on X.

Musk further suggested that Republican lawmakers who supported the legislation should be voted out in the upcoming midterms.

Brian Kilmeade offers insight into Donald Trump's response to Elon Musk's criticism of bill

During the 7 am ET hour on 'Fox & Friends' Wednesday, co-host Brian Kilmeade offered insight into President Donald Trump’s reaction to the former 'dodgefather' at DOGE, Elon Musk’s recent criticism. “I think the Elon Musk thing really caught the president by surprise,” Kilmeade said. “And I hear he is furious!" as per Mediaite.

Despite the apparent anger, Kilmeade suggested Trump may hold back from responding publicly. “I think he’s so smart to keep his powder dry,” he said. “Because it just plays into what critics would have to say, ‘The right can’t get out of their own way.’ Instead, you have a goal: Pass it. Elon Musk is not in the Senate or the House. Don’t worry about it.’

Co-host Lawrence Jones attempted to put a positive spin on the situation, insisting Musk still supports the broader MAGA movement. “I don’t think Elon is anti-MAGA or anti-Trump now,” Jones said. “He worked so hard, put a lot of stuff on the line to get a lot wasteful stuff cut.”

But Ainsley Earhardt expressed skepticism about any quick reconciliation. “I was shocked to hear him say that,” she said of Musk. “I can understand why the president would not be happy about that.”

Brian Kilmeade's claim about Donald Trump's reaction to Elon Musk sparks Internet discussion

As a video of Brian Kilmeade sharing insights into Donald Trump’s reaction to Elon Musk’s criticism of his bill circulated online, social media users were quick to weigh in with their reactions.

One user said, "Poor @kilmeade can't wrap his head around Republican embezzlement. Adding $5 trillion to the debt for a giveaway, and calling it a 'tax cut,' is a scam. 😏"

An X user tweeted, "Truth hurts...."

An online user claimed, "Elon will talk about what he did…Be looking for it!"

An online user explained, "Donald Trump expects only sycophantic praise and adulation from supporters. Trump's Cabinet know this and extol his "genius" incessantly, as well as lying he won a "landslide" in November. Elon Musk called One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBBA) an "abomination." Yikes."

Another user commented, "Of course Trump is pissed. He wanted everyone to lie for him. He knows Musk is a huge influencer. Musk speaking out is getting big recognition and Trump knows many people trust Elon. And he won’t speak out against Elons comments because Elon probably knows a lot of Trump’s little secrets."

An X user quipped, "I guess Trump’s just now hitting the FIND OUT phase😂"

One user shared, "Ha. Good. So if you are counting, that makes two things that caught him by surprise. I can't wait for the third, so as to complete the trilogy."

Elon Musk takes direct aim at Donald Trump's bill in a flurry of posts

In a flurry of posts on June 3, Elon Musk launched a scathing attack on what he mockingly referred to as Donald Trump's "big, beautiful bill".

Taking to X, Musk wrote, “I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore. This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it.”

For those unfamiliar, the so-called "Big Beautiful Bill" is Trump’s latest flagship policy initiative — a sweeping spending package that preserves his tax cuts, expands deductions for state and local taxes, and boosts military funding.

Musk didn’t hold back, warning in another post that the bill would “massively increase the already gigantic budget deficit to $2.5 trillion (!!!) and burden American citizens with crushingly unsustainable debt.”
