ATKINSON, NEW HAMPSHIRE: Former United States President Donald Trump has gained the endorsement of 38-year-old former GOP presidential rival Vivek Ramaswamy, as the latter joined Trump at a rally in Atkinson, New Hampshire, on Tuesday, January 16.

Ramaswamy, who had suspended his presidential campaign just a day prior, urged voters to support Trump in the upcoming New Hampshire primaries.

In response, Trump expressed his appreciation and hinted that Ramaswamy could potentially play a significant role in his campaign against President Joe Biden in November, according to the DailyMail.

The former president's remarks suggested that he values the expertise and resources that Ramaswamy brings to the table.

Indeed, he suggested that Ramaswamy, as a tech multimillionaire, could be a valuable asset to his campaign which has led to speculation that Ramaswamy may join Trump's team in an official capacity anytime soon.

What did Donald Trump and Vivek Ramaswamy say during their speeches?

Vivek Ramaswamy appeared onstage alongside Donald Trump in a caucus rally in Atkinson ahead of the New Hampshire caucus on January 23 and expressed his full support for the 77-year-old GOP frontrunner.

As Ramaswamy concluded his remarks, several Trump supporters could be heard yelling "Veep!" as they wished for the firebrand political outsider to become the vice-presidential nominee for the former President’s bid for a second term in the Oval Office.

"Wow! How was that? Pretty good, right?" Trump reacted to Ramaswamy's comments.

He continued, "He's a fantastic guy. He's got something that's very special because he started off with a zippo and he ended up very strong. He did a great job. I was actually surprised when he called because he was doing well. And it's an honor to have his endorsement."

"He's going to be working with us, and he'll be working with us for a long time," Trump said, as the audience erupted in applause.

Ramaswamy himself reacted to the former president’s glowing praise about him on social media, writing, "America-First. One movement. Indivisible."

Ramaswamy wasted no time in conveying his support for former President Donald Trump following a disappointing turnout in the Iowa caucuses on Monday, January 15, where he secured a meager 8 per cent of the vote and came fourth in the Hawkeye State overall.

In contrast, Trump broke contested primary records with 51 per cent of the vote.

Meanwhile, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley came second and third, respectively, with 21 per cent and 19 per cent of the vote.

Both GOP presidential candidates are continuing to campaign in New Hampshire and South Carolina for the upcoming caucuses, which will be where the Republican party narrows down its list of possible contenders for the GOP presidential nomination.

Ramaswamy is urging both candidates to withdraw from the presidential race and unite behind Trump, who is undoubtedly the favorite in the eyes of the GOP voter base, in preparation for the general election, per a report from Fox News.

During the Atkinson rally, Trump hinted at Ramaswamy's entry to the race with virtually no name recognition.

Despite this, Ramaswamy outlasted several prominent Republicans, including former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, and former Vice President Mike Pence.

Although the Iowa caucuses were not in his favor, Ramaswamy put forth considerable effort in his presidential campaign.

His campaign team boasted that he completed the "Full Grassley" twice, a term indicating that he visited all of Iowa's 99 counties at least twice, to shake people’s hands and talk with them one-on-one.

Furthermore, he held more campaign events than any other candidate running in the Hawkeye State, which was reflected in his fourth-place finish.

It's unclear whether Trump mentioned a prospective post for Ramaswamy during his presidential campaign or in a hypothetical Trump administration.
