LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: California Governor Gavin Newsom called President Donald Trump a "son of a b***h" during a recent podcast appearance.

While talking to podcaster and former Navy SEAL Shawn Ryan, the Democrat tore into Trump over the ICE raids in Los Angeles.

“It didn’t need the National Guard to be called in,” Newsom said, slamming Trump’s decision to deploy troops to crack down on protests and boost immigration enforcement.

The governor said he thinks this isn’t about national security at all, it’s just Trump playing tough guy for the cameras.

Gavin Newsom slams Donald Trump for causing reputational damage to the National Guard

Gavin Newsom claimed he was upset about what he sees as damage to the National Guard’s image, especially in LA, where they had recently helped battle catastrophic fires. According to the governor, Trump’s use of the military for photo ops has left a stain.

“Those guys were out there at every single intersection during the fires. These guys were exhausted and now they’re being told to mask up … I told you they’re getting selfies out there where they’re beloved in Santa Monica,” Newsom said.

Now, instead of admiration, they’re apparently being seen as tools of intimidation.

“Now, that reputational damage that’s being done as they’re sitting on horses with American flags running through soccer fields scaring kids that are playing soccer in the middle of the day at a summer camp for what? Just toughness. That’s weakness masquerading as strength. That’s what I don’t like about this son of a b***h," he continued.

Realizing he might’ve crossed the line with the “son of a b***h” comment, the 57-year-old tried to walk it back.

“And forgive me, I know he’s the president of the United States. Forgive me, I didn’t, he calls me Newscum,” the governor said.

“Come on, how do I explain that to my kid now? I have my kids’ friends calling my kids Newscum … I was called that in seventh grade, but not by a 79-year-old. Model goddamn better behavior, man — forgive the goddamn,” he added.

Gavin Newsom says Donald Trump is 'the real scum'

This feud isn’t new, and it sure didn’t cool off last week either. When federal agents raided a major cannabis operation in Camarillo, California — complete with tear gas and protester clashes — Gavin Newsom voiced his frustration on social media.

“Trump calls me ‘Newscum’ — but he’s the real scum,” Newsom posted on X (formerly Twitter), alongside footage from KTLA showing people running from tear gas.

According to NBC News’ deportation tracker, 57,186 migrants are currently in ICE detention, with nearly 2,800 deported just from the LA area alone.

But the feds didn’t take his “real scum” comment lightly. The Department of Homeland Security clapped back fast. “Why are there children working at a marijuana facility, Gavin?” the agency’s official X account snarked.

Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Rodney Scott piled on, saying 10 minors in the country illegally were found at the site. “This is Newsom’s California,” he wrote. He added that the facility is “now under investigation for child labor violations.”

The cannabis company, Glass House Farms, however, said on social media that they followed all federal search warrant requirements and denied hiring minors. They insisted the company “has never knowingly violated applicable hiring practices.”

Why Gavin Newsom can't stand Donald Trump

Turns out, Gavin Newsom's dislike for Donald Trump can be traced back to his experiences in childhood.

Newsom was diagnosed with dyslexia when he was just five years old. His late mother worked with people with disabilities, and that, he says, deeply shaped how he sees the world.

“And people being bullied; I don’t like bullies. Goes to why I have strong opinions about Trump, man. It triggers me,” Newsom shared on Ryan's podcast. “All of us have that. I don’t like people talking down to people. I don’t like people exploiting weakness. My mom taught me that."
