Davis recalled being surprised on a flight when airline staff told her she would be seated next to Clooney.
“Guess who you’re sitting next to? George Clooney,” they told her, to which she joked, “Guess who he’s sitting next to.”
According to Davis, Clooney was in a “talkative” and “very gregarious” mood during the flight and eventually brought up Pitt.
She quoted him saying, “You know, I hate that Brad Pitt.'"
When she pointed out that Clooney and Pitt were actually close friends, he allegedly insisted, “No, I hate him because he got the part in 'Thelma & Louise.'”
He also suggested Davis could tell he wanted the role during their audition reading together.
Davis found the exchange amusing and pushed back, asking whether he had truly wanted the part. Clooney reportedly replied, “Couldn’t you tell when I read with you?”
Cohen later noted that Pitt was the right choice for the role. Davis agreed, saying Pitt earned the part on his own merit and delivered the strongest audition.
