'Getting kinda bonkers': Internet divided as Mike Johnson calls Joe Biden an 'anti-Israel president'
WASHINGTON, DC: President Joe Biden has come under fire from House Speaker Mike Johnson, who accused the president of turning 'anti-Israel' to appease the radical left wing base of the Democratic party, according to the New York Post.
Notably, Biden has started criticizing the present Israeli leadership and advocating for a cease-fire more vehemently in response to intense pressure from progressives and growing humanitarian concerns.
Mike Johnson slams Joe Biden for shifting into 'anti-Israel' direction
During a press conference on Wednesday, April 10, Johnson said, "Democrats are weak on Israel as well, and it’s their support for Israel. It’s rather stunning to us that there’s this dramatic shift. Hamas is holding more than 130 hostages."
He added, "Shamefully since October 7, Joe Biden has transformed into an anti-Israel president. There’s really no other way to characterize it. He’s more concerned, seemingly, with placating the antisemitism in his base than standing with our historic and vitally important ally."

As officials believe Iran is preparing for military action, Biden reaffirmed on Wednesday that his backing for Israel will remain 'ironclad' despite his recent high-profile spats with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Biden informed reporters at the White House, "As I told Prime Minister Netanyahu, our commitment to Israel’s security against these threats from Iran and its proxies is ironclad — let me say it again, ‘ironclad'."
He added, "We’re going to do all we can to protect Israel’s security."
Notably, during a call with Netanyahu on Thursday, April 4, Biden asked for a cease-fire in the conflict with Hamas so that supplies could reach the beleaguered coastal enclave.
Leading figures in his administration have been frantically trying to assist in mediating a hostage situation between Israel and Hamas, but they have encountered obstacles in light of recent doubts about the number of hostages that remain.
Biden said in an interview with Univision, "What I’m calling for is for the Israelis to just call for a cease-fire, allow for the next six, eight weeks total access to all food and medicine going into the country."
