Greg Gutfeld claims Biden is unbothered by Jonathan Diller death as he wasn't 'part of a trendy movement'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In a stark commentary on the contrasting responses of political leaders to tragedies, Fox News' Greg Gutfeld has taken aim at President Joe Biden, accusing him of selective recognition of the deceased.
Gutfeld's remarks on 'The Five' came in the wake of two notable events in New York: former President Trump attending the wake of slain NYPD officer Jonathan Diller while the incumbent POTUS was otherwise engaged in the same city.
Joe Biden’s presence in New York was linked to a fundraising event that was also attended by Barack Obama and Bill Clinton. The fundraiser, which raised over $25 million for Biden’s reelection campaign, was marked by protests against his stance on the Gaza crisis.
Fatal shooting of NYPD officer Jonathan Diller
Jonathan Diller, a 31-year-old NYPD officer, tragically lost his life in the line of duty, leaving behind a wife and a one-year-old son. He was fatally shot during a routine traffic stop by a career criminal named Guy Rivera.
The incident occurred when Officer Diller approached a vehicle that was illegally stopped at a bus stop and attempted to order the occupants out. Rivera, who had a history of multiple arrests, fired at Officer Diller, striking him beneath his bulletproof vest.
Despite efforts to save him, Officer Diller succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. His death underscored the dangers faced by law enforcement officers and reignited conversations about public safety and crime prevention.
Greg Gutfeld calls out Biden's absence at officer Diller's wake
Gutfeld praised Trump for acknowledging Diller's death, rejecting accusations of politicization and instead framing it as a recognition of reality.
"While Trump paid respects to Diller and lamented the tragedy," Gutfeld stated, "Biden's absence at the wake raised eyebrows, especially as he was in the city for a fundraiser with celebrities, Obama, and Clinton."
Gutfeld seized on this disparity, accusing Biden of only recognizing the dead if they're part of trendy movements.
Gutfeld denounces Biden's selective mourning
"In this war on society, Officer Diller was a casualty," Gutfeld emphasized. "The ideas pushed by elites got him killed, and they're far removed from those consequences."
"It is weird how Joe Biden only recognizes the dead if they're part of a trendy movement, only then he could be bothered. And I think what you can call that is politics," said Greg Gutfeld.
