WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump made an unexpected appearance on Fox News through a text message to host Greg Gutfeld during a live broadcast on Tuesday, November 3, Election Day.

Gutfeld revealed the president's message while co-hosting ‘The Five’, with Trump asking him to pass along a pointed message to Jessica Tarlov.

The exchange came shortly after Trump publicly threatened to stop watching Fox News because he could not stand listening to Tarlov.

The unusual moment unfolded as the panel discussed the growing number of political spam messages being sent to Americans' phones ahead of the midterm elections. With a chyron reading "Sick of Political Spam Texts?" on screen, Gutfeld surprised his co-hosts by revealing that he had received a message from Trump.

"We’re talking about getting political texts, you wouldn’t believe this one I got from somebody called the president!" Gutfeld announced.

He then read the president's message aloud, which began with a direct instruction: "Greg, tell Tarlov, who is the worst.”

Trump went on to defend his record on gas prices and Iran, writing that prices were lower than they had been under former Presidents Joe Biden and Barack Obama. He also accused their administrations of allowing Iran to have a nuclear bomb.

"Furthermore I inherited the worst prices and inflation in history from Sleepy Joe. Prices are heading down fast,” Trump wrote.

He further claimed that inflation was falling and added that there would be no nuclear "bomb" before signing off as "President DJT."

Tarlov did not appear particularly interested in engaging with the president's message. Her response was brief: "Just press 'Stop.'"

Trump threatens Fox News boycott over Jessica Tarlov

The text exchange came roughly an hour after Trump had taken another swipe at Tarlov on Truth Social.

While Fox News was covering Election Day developments, Trump complained about hearing the liberal co-host on ‘The Five’ and announced that he was switching channels until she was off the air.

"Watching the Pre-Election Results on FoxNews, but I can’t stand Jessica Tarlov’s voice — DUMB AS A ROCK, but it’s the voice that gets me," he wrote.

He added that he would have to go somewhere else until she was off the air, signing off by saying, "I’ll be back later!"

Trump repeatedly targets Fox News host Jessica Tarlov

This was not the first time Trump had publicly criticised Tarlov.

At an October 5 rally in Grand Island, Nebraska, he criticised Fox News for interviewing Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed before turning his attention to the co-host.

"They always have to put Jessica Tarlov — another loser," Trump complained.

He also questioned why the network continued giving certain voices airtime, arguing that it did not make for better entertainment.

A day before his latest Election Day outburst, Trump had also called Tarlov "stupid" in another Truth Social post.

He warned that his supporters could stop watching Fox News if the network continued focusing on Democratic voices rather than his rallies.

Tarlov, however, has previously brushed off his criticism. Following another attack in late September, she responded on social media with a short message: "Thanks for highlighting my good work."
