NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett joined co-hosts Lawrence Jones, Steve Doocy, Ainsley Earhardt, and Brian Kilmeade to discuss the proceedings of Donald Trump's New York civil fraud case, on Monday, March 26 episode of 'Fox & Friends,' when his deadline to secure bond for $454 million was supposed to run out.

On the show, he responded to comments made by the Democratic US representative from New York, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, where she claimed there was a "risk in not seizing" Trump's assets, warning about what Trump could do to arrange the funds for the bond, according to Fox News.

"I have no idea what she was saying, I don't really think she does," Jarrett told co-host Jones during the segment.

"You know, trying to make sense of anything AOC says is sort of a favorite Washington parlor game," he continued. "She has this uncanny ability to talk incessantly while saying absolutely nothing. And that is because she is hopelessly uninformed, terminally obtuse, and I think just plain ignorant."

"This is the same person a week ago who said RICO or racketeering is not a crime. No sane person takes AOC seriously, which I suppose is why she's always featured on CNN," added the analyst.

Reduction of Donald Trump's bond value

The former President Donald Trump was initially ordered to pay a $454 million penalty in the civil fraud judgment against him to secure the bond, otherwise the the state of New York would have had the opportunity to seize his properties while he appealed.

However, when the deadline arrived, a state appellate court ruled Trump would be required to pay $175 million for bond instead, and provided a limit of 10 days to comply.

The likely Republican presidential nominee was unable to come up with the initial amount within the specified deadline, with over 30 underwriters refusing to back the bond, according to court filings.

“The amount of the judgment, with interest, exceeds $464 million, and very few bonding companies will consider a bond of anything approaching that magnitude,” his lawyers had stated earlier.
