NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene took to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to claim that Democrats were against business owners after Donald Trump failed to secure his appeal bond in the New York civil fraud case on Monday, March 18.

According to CNN, Trump's attorney said that the former President approached 30 underwriters to back the bond, which is due by the end of March, but none agreed. They added that potential underwriters were seeking cash to back the bond instead of properties.

“The amount of the judgment, with interest, exceeds $464 million, and very few bonding companies will consider a bond of anything approaching that magnitude,” wrote the lawyers.

Of the total amount, Trump was ordered to pay $454 million himself, while the rest included the disgorgement for his sons Donald Trump Jr and Eric Trump.

Trump claimed in a Truth Social post that the amount for the bond was “unConstitutional, un-American, unprecedented, and practically impossible for ANY Company, including one as successful as mine. The Bonding Companies have never heard of such a bond, of this size, before, nor do they have the ability to post such a bond, even if they wanted to.”

Sharing the news of Trump being unable to secure his bail bond, Greene wrote on X, "Every wealthy person and business owner seeing this should take heed and get out of blue cities and states."

"What the left is doing to the Trump family in this case should scare the hell out of everyone," she continued. "They don’t want to win elections, they want to destroy all of us."

Internet reacts to Marjorie Taylor Greene's post

Social media users slammed Greene over her post, as the following tweets demonstrate.

"Yes, every wealthy person and business owner that commits fraud should take heed," stated a user.

"Remember when @realDonaldTrump first got the judgment and said don't worry he's so wealthy. This is pocket change? Do you suppose maybe they're in the pockets of his other suit?"

"You forgot a few aspects Ms. Greene. Let's correct that for you: Every person who lies about being a billionaire, who lies about the value of their properties, who commits fraud, and who cons people throughout his entire life, should take heed and go on the run from justice. Trump being held accountable doesn't frighten normal people even the slightest. That is because normal people aren't conmen and criminals. Also Democrats have been doing well in the election winning department since Trump became the leader of the now failing Republican party," wrote another.

"Your billionaire was never a billionaire. Lying hurts !" jibed a third.

"Or … [ hear me out, now ] … don’t commit fraud. Easy Peasy," mocked a fourth.

"Sorry, Marge. You gotta pay your bills," commented a fifth, using Trump's words against him.
