'Grow up': Trump slammed for attacking daughter of judge overseeing hush money case in Truth Social rant
WASHINGTON, DC: Donald Trump took Truth Social to launch a scathing attack aimed at a judge and his daughter a day after a New York court decided that his hush money trial should proceed as planned on April 15.
The ex-POTUS went as far as accusing Judge Juan Merchan and his daughter of political prejudice, as per the Independent.
Donald Trump calls Judge Juan Merchan a 'country destroying scoundrel'
In his Truth Social post, Trump wrote, "Judge Juan Merchan, a very distinguished looking man, is nevertheless a true and certified Trump Hater who suffers from a very serious case of Trump Derangement Syndrome."
He added, "In other words, he hates me! His daughter is a senior executive at a Super Liberal Democrat firm that works for Adam ‘Shifty’ Schiff, the Democrat National Committee, (Dem) Senate Majority PAC, and even Crooked Joe Biden."
The defendant then shifted his accusations, accusing Judge Merchan of "viciously" pursuing Allen Weisselberg, the former chief financial officer of the Trump Organization, who was imprisoned in 2023 after being found guilty of tax offenses.
The ex-POTUS noted, "He was recently the judge on an unrelated trial of a long-term employee, elderly and not in good health. This judge treated him viciously, telling him either you cooperate or I’m putting you in jail for 15 years."
He added, "He pled, and went to jail for very minor offenses, highly unusual, served 4 months in Rikers, and now they are after him again, this time for allegedly lying (doesn’t look like a lie to me!), and they threatened him again with 15 years if he doesn’t say something bad about 'TRUMP.' He is devastated and scared!"
Trump asserted, "These COUNTRY DESTROYING SCOUNDRELS & THUGS HAVE NO CASE AGAINST ME. WITCH HUNT!"
The White House hopeful has often publicly criticized the judges overseeing his many court matters. He threw vicious attacks at Judge Arthur Engoron, who presided over the 11-week civil fraud trial that resulted in a $464 million judgment against the Trump Organization in February.
In less than three weeks, Trump is set to appear before Judge Merchan for the start of the hush money trial prompted by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's 34-count indictment filed a year ago.
It states that the defendant fabricated business records to conceal payments made to Karen McDougal and Stormy Daniels in 2016 to keep them quiet about supposed affairs he had with them years earlier to prevent them from jeopardizing the presidential election.
Internet slams Donald Trump for dragging Judge Juan Merchan's daughter into his rant
One wrote, "Just goes to show that the walls of justice are quickly closing in on this liar, cheater & all-around criminal traitor to America! And he is unable to take it!"
Another remarked, "I smell a gag order in Trump‘s near future, from Judge Merchan!" "He’s such a damn baby. Grow up, loser! If you didn’t want to face the consequences, you shouldn’t have done so much illegal and shifty stuff all these years," said someone else.
A person added, "He needs jailed AND gag-ordered."
