Halle Berry offers rare insight into friendship with ‘little sweetheart’ Zendaya
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Halle Berry is showing her support for Zendaya after the actress paid homage to Berry’s iconic pixie cut at the 78th Emmy Awards.
Berry praised Zendaya’s work ethic, style, and influence on her generation while revealing that she hopes to work with her someday.

While attending the 'Create & Cultivate - On Her Own Terms: Halle Berry on Menopause, Aging, & Women’s Health' event in downtown Los Angeles on Sunday, September 20, Berry spoke exclusively to PEOPLE about her connection with Zendaya.
The conversation came after Zendaya took inspiration from Berry for her look at the 78th Emmy Awards six days earlier.
Zendaya wore a custom Prada dress covered in silver sequins and appliqués, paired with a Rolex watch and Mikimoto jewelry.
She also debuted a textured pixie cut similar to the hairstyle Berry was known for.
“I do speak to her and I have to say she is the sweetest and my little sweetheart and I would love to find something to do with her someday,” Berry said.
She continued, “I mean, hopefully we will, but I’m just a supporter of her. I love everything she’s doing. I think she is changing the game in so many ways for her generation. And I couldn’t be more proud of someone or to know someone honored that she would pay homage to me that way. That was really sweet.”
Berry had previously shared Law Roach’s Instagram Stories post featuring side-by-side images of Zendaya at the September 14 Emmy Awards and Berry at the 2002 premiere of 'Die Another Day.'
Berry added an animated heart beneath the photos and tagged Roach and Zendaya.
Zendaya debuts Halle Berry-inspired pixie cut at Emmys
Zendaya’s Emmy appearance was one of her first outings with her “reimagined” pixie cut, which was styled with texture and lift through a “modern, editorial lens,” hairstylist Coree Moreno said in a press release. Berry later said she “murdered the night” while sharing an interview with Roach, who confirmed the inspiration behind the look.
Berry also shared a clip of herself appearing on 'The Drew Barrymore Show,' where she revealed that she would like to play Zendaya’s mother one day.
“There is an actress that I love with every fiber of my being. I love her,” Berry said and also added, “I would love to play her mother. Zendaya.”
At the Emmys, Zendaya’s custom Prada gown featured sheer white fabric at the low-cut neckline and a mini train.
Her Mikimoto jewelry included earrings with 4.40 carats of diamonds and rings featuring diamonds totaling more than 5 carats.
Zendaya’s appearance followed press tours for 'The Odyssey,' 'The Drama,' and 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day.' 'Dune: Part Three,' her last movie of the year, is scheduled for release in December. She also embraced method dressing throughout her press tours with Roach.
She also received her third Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series nomination for 'Euphoria.' Her second Emmy nomination made her the youngest two-time acting nominee and winner.
