HOLLYWOOD, FLORIDA: Ron DeSantis has been blasted online after he reportedly attacked President Joe Biden and his government for showcasing a “posture of weakness” as he commented on Russian warships near Florida.

During his visit to Hollywood Fire Rescue Station 5, he was asked, “We’re hearing that Russian warships are passing within 30 miles of Key Largo on the way to Havana. Could the governor comment?” as reported by Sun Sentinel.

Ron DeSantis slams Joe Biden

The Governor of Florida did not hold back as he replied on Friday, June 14, “We’re failing as a country with the deterrent capability, and I think it starts at the top with the president of the United States.”

He continued, “I think that history has shown that these bad actors, they respond to strength and they’re deterred by strength.

“They are not going to be deterred by weakness. They are not going to be deterred by confusion.”

“They’re not going to be deterred by a president wandering around aimlessly at the G7,” DeSantis stated, referring to a video from the 50th G7 summit allegedly showing Biden aimlessly moving away from other world leaders.

The 45-year-old politician asserting more on his points added, as reported by Florida Politics, “They’re going to be deterred because they know that that’s not somebody that you want to mess with. So we’re failing as a country with the deterrent capability.”

Netizens react to Ron DeSantis' statements

However, people online did not seem to agree with DeSantis as a reader below a Newsweek article commented, “DeSantis is just saying a bunch of words and says nothing specifically what he would do regarding Russian ships passing through international waters. As with most politicians, easy to criticize but never says what they would do. If DeSantis read more reputable media sources, he would know that the Biden wandering story was debunked.”

Another reader remarked, “Classless DeSantis.”

“So, don't let others sail through international waters? Um, stick to being a governor,” a third one said.

A fourth one noted, “The most emasculated man in the State of Florida, weakly and lamely attempts to emasculate the most powerful man in the country. Epic Fail Mr DeSantis.”

"'If my responsibilities were different, that would not be something that we would allow to be happening' -old typical incompetent Republican proverb What's he going to do?? Engage in hostilities as one sovereign nation visits another?? Go off, King!!" an individual stated.

“Your largest city was underwater. You've got bigger problems. Act like it,” an X user tweeted.

Another one added, “Give me a break 🙄While people were dealing with major flooding, @RonDeSantis had to put his fake remarks about something that has happened for decades…native Floridians know this. Did he make a public statement when they were off the coast in 2019?”
