WASHINGTON, DC: Though Robert Francis Kennedy Jr, popularly known as RFK Jr, has claimed himself to be eligible for the upcoming CNN presidential debate, his records are stating otherwise.

A report by The Washington Post said that the independent presidential candidate is failing to get CNN’s polling threshold of 15 percent in four national polls. He has reportedly hit only three until now.

RFK Jr's campaign claims he’s ‘eligible for more electoral votes than’ Trump and Biden

Besides, according to CNN’s debate criteria, he is also losing on earning enough ballots to get 270 electoral votes in the Electoral College, which is required to be elected to office, despite his campaign working for months trying to get approvals to get him on different states’ ballots.

But RFK Jr’s campaign spokeswoman Stefanie Spear has dismissed The Post’s report, saying, “The bottom line is he is eligible for more electoral votes than both Presidents Trump and Biden.”

RFK Jr called out CNN for not including him in presidential debate

This came after in May, the 70-year-old anti-vaccine activist complained about CNN and accused the network of working with Joe Biden and Donald Trump against him.

A complaint by him read, as reported by the Associated Press, “CNN is making prohibited corporate contributions to both campaigns and the Biden committee and the Trump committee have accepted these prohibited corporate contributions.”

However, as per a spokesperson of CNN, “The law in virtually every state provides that the nominee of a state-recognized political party will be allowed ballot access without petitioning.”

“As the presumptive nominees of their parties both Biden and Trump will satisfy this requirement. As an independent candidate, under applicable laws, RFK Jr. does not. The mere application for ballot access does not guarantee that he will appear on the ballot in any state,” they added.

Internet labels RFK Jr as ‘clown’

Meanwhile, people have blasted RFK Jr online with a Facebook user commenting, “He can still be on the 1% Club for those first few minutes before the actual questions start. The easy ones.”

Another user wrote, “We don’t want another (the other one is Trumpcan of worms opened).”

“He needs to drop out of sight!” the third user commented.

The fourth user stated, “Like we need another lunatic on stage.”

The fifth one added, “Why is he so unsettling to look at?”

“Total clown!” an individual remarked.

Another one suggested, “For the sake of the country, drop out and help President Joe Biden defeat Felonious TFG Trump. The traitor who recruited you to run as a third-party spoiler, Steve Bannon, is reporting for prison soon. Do the right thing and abandon your failed campaign. Bye.”
