Hillary Clinton calls House Oversight grilling ‘repetitive’ after six-hour Epstein deposition
WASHINGTON, DC: Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton described her marathon six-hour deposition with the House Oversight Committee as “repetitive,” expressing frustration that the hearing was closed to the public. The Republican-led panel subpoenaed Clinton and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, in connection with documents linked to financier Jeffrey Epstein.
Clinton criticized the committee for declining to hold the hearing publicly, saying transparency would have benefited both the lawmakers and the public.
Hillary Clinton urges public release of deposition
Speaking to reporters outside the Chappaqua Performing Arts Center in New York, Clinton said she and her legal team had requested that transcripts and videos be released promptly. “It was disappointing that they refused to hold a public hearing so I wouldn't have to be out here characterizing it for you,” she said.
She also described the questioning as “repetitive,” noting that she would not appear again even if the deposition were public. Much of the discussion centered on whether she had direct knowledge of Epstein’s activities, which Clinton strongly denied.

Hillary Clinton denies having direct knowledge of Jeffrey Epstein
“I don’t know how many times I had to say I did not know Jeffrey Epstein. I never visited his island, his home, or his offices,” she said. While acknowledging her husband’s past connection with Epstein, she emphasized that Bill Clinton has not been accused of wrongdoing and that their relationship with Epstein ended years before his criminal history became public.
Democratic lawmakers demand full transcript of Clinton deposition
Democratic lawmakers pressed the Republican majority to release the complete, unedited transcript within 24 hours. Rep. Robert Garcia of California, the committee’s top Democrat, highlighted the lack of transparency in the closed-door deposition and said the public deserves to know both the questions and Clinton’s responses.

The committee indicated it plans to release video footage once it is approved. Bill Clinton is expected to testify on Friday as part of the continuing investigation.
