CHAPPAQUA, NEW YORK: Hillary Clinton criticized House Republicans after a closed-door deposition, saying GOP lawmakers questioned her about UFOs and the debunked “Pizzagate” conspiracy theory during testimony tied to the Jeffrey Epstein investigation.

Speaking to reporters outside the Chappaqua Performing Arts Center on February 26, Clinton described parts of the session as “very long” and “repetitive,” adding that some of the questions veered into what she called baseless internet claims.

She said she answered every question posed by members of the United States House Committee on Oversight and Reform but suggested that certain lines of inquiry were not relevant to the committee’s stated focus.

Hillary Clinton says House GOP raised UFOs and Pizzagate during deposition

Clinton told reporters the deposition “got quite unusual” when lawmakers began asking about UFOs and “one of the most vile bogus conspiracy theories that was propagated on the internet,” referring to “Pizzagate.”

The widely debunked 2016 theory falsely claimed that she and other Democrats were linked to criminal activity at a Washington, DC, pizzeria. Clinton dismissed the suggestion outright and said she found the questions unproductive.

“I thought that they literally asked the same questions over and over again, which didn’t seem to me to be very productive,” she said. “And then, as I said toward the end, there were several questions that were off-subject.”

At the same time, Clinton commended Committee Chairman James Comer for raising what she described as significant questions about the scope of the investigation. She said she appreciated the opportunity to respond and reiterated that she wants “to see the truth come out.”

Hillary Clinton denies contact with Jeffrey Epstein

Much of the deposition focused on Clinton’s alleged connections to Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell.

In her opening statement, Clinton said she had “no idea” about their criminal activities and did not recall ever encountering Epstein. “I never flew on his plane or visited his island, homes or offices. I have nothing to add to that,” she said.

Clinton described Maxwell as a casual acquaintance and noted that Maxwell attended her daughter’s wedding as the guest of another invitee.

After the hourslong session, Clinton said she responded to every question to the best of her ability. Lawmakers from both parties indicated she answered all inquiries during the deposition.

Still, Clinton argued that the overall tone and repetition of certain questions suggested political motivations. She maintained that she does not possess information relevant to the committee’s inquiry and emphasized that she cooperated fully throughout the proceedings.
