With Hillary, Bill Clinton's hearing in focus, James Comer asks if Epstein was a 'double agent'
WASHINGTON, DC: The possibility that Jeffrey Epstein may have operated as a US intelligence asset or even a “double or triple agent” is a key concern of the renewed congressional push led by House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer.
Comer said former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will be pressed to answer questions under oath about their knowledge of Epstein and his longtime associate Ghislaine Maxwell, as lawmakers examine whether Epstein’s global access had national security implications.
🚨 Bill and Hillary Clinton have never answered a single question about their well-documented ties to Jeffrey Epstein & Ghislaine Maxwell.

James Comer raises national security concerns
In an interview on Fox News on Wednesday, February 25, Comer made clear that the inquiry is not limited to social ties or travel records.
Instead, he suggested that investigators are probing whether Epstein’s extraordinary access to political leaders, billionaires and global elites could have involved intelligence operations.
“We have a lot of questions because there’s a suspicion that Epstein was either an asset for the US government or he was a spy or even a double or triple agent,” Comer said.
He framed the issue as a matter of national security rather than partisan politics.
“We’re concerned from a national security standpoint. Was Epstein trading secrets with other governments? Was he trading secrets to be able to lure the most powerful and richest men in the world to his properties around the world?”
The remarks mark one of the clearest indications yet that congressional investigators are exploring theories about Epstein’s possible links to intelligence agencies.
Bill and Hillary Clinton's ties under scrutiny
Comer argued that the Clintons’ past interactions with Epstein warrant sworn testimony before Congress.
He pointed to records showing that Epstein visited the White House multiple times during Bill Clinton’s presidency and that the former president later flew on Epstein’s private jet on numerous occasions.
He also noted Maxwell’s attendance at Chelsea Clinton’s wedding as evidence of social proximity.
“If you saw Hillary Clinton’s interview a few days ago, she acted like they barely knew Epstein and Maxwell,” Comer said, contrasting that characterization with documented contacts.
At the same time, he emphasized that the committee is not currently accusing the Clintons of criminal wrongdoing. “No one’s accusing the Clintons of wrongdoing,” he said. “But we have a lot of questions.”
While much of the public focus has been on high-profile Democrats, Comer insisted the probe will not spare Republicans.
“I’m trying to be nonpartisan in this investigation,” Comer said, arguing that accountability in the Epstein case transcends party lines.
However, he also claimed that a significant majority of prominent individuals previously associated with Epstein were Democrats, adding that the committee will continue questioning individuals “regardless of political party or political identification.”
James Comer vows to press Clintons
In a post on X, Comer declared that the Clintons have “never answered a single question” about their ties to Epstein and Maxwell, adding “That ends today.”
“The House Oversight Committee will press for the answers survivors and the American people deserve,” he wrote.
With national security dimension now under debate, the investigation appears poised to revisit not only Epstein’s crimes but also the unresolved question of how he amassed wealth, influence and extraordinary access to the world’s most powerful figures.
