‘His ear grew back?’ Disgraced MSNBC host Joy Reid once again mocks Trump's assassination attempt

Joy Reid goes full conspiracy theorist clown, "[Trump] had a Dukal bandage on one minute, no bandage the next. We can't get a medical record from this, alleged assassination. He was supposedly shot. We have nothing. We've got no—we can’t even ask." pic.twitter.com/NlfM8RHgoE

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Former MSNBC host Joy Reid has cast doubt on the official account of President Donald Trump’s injuries from the assassination attempt at his Pennsylvania rally last year, claiming the public still knows “nothing” about what really happened.
Reid, who left the network earlier this year, made the remarks while appearing on Katie Phang’s YouTube channel on Tuesday, September 2. She accused mainstream media of failing to demand medical records or clarity about Trump’s condition following the shooting, which occurred during his 2024 campaign.
Joy Reid questions Donald Trump’s reported injuries
Joy Reid openly mocked the lack of transparency surrounding President Trump’s health in the aftermath of the shooting. “He's got these magical doctors who claimed that he was shot in the ear, but his ear, I guess, grew back,” she said. “He had a Dukal bandage on one minute, no bandage the next. We can't get a medical record from this alleged assassination. He was supposedly shot. We have nothing. We've got no, we can’t even ask.”

Phang added her own skepticism, asking, “Where are the investigative records? One day, he slapped a Maxi Pad on his ear. The next day, the ear is totally fine.” Reid replied, “It’s fine! … Isn’t it odd that we've never asked for his medical records? And I got in trouble for that. So, you're not allowed to even say, ‘Isn't that weird?’”
Reid argued that more information was available about assassination attempts on past presidents than on Trump. “I remember being in mainstream media where we both used to work, saying, ‘Isn't it odd that we've never asked for his medical records?’” she said. “We’re getting nothing. And the mainstream media isn’t demanding his medical records. They’re not demanding anything. They’re terrified of this man.”

She contrasted the secrecy around Trump with the documented accounts of attempts on Gerald Ford and William McKinley, saying she knew “more about them” than about the 2024 shooting.
Joy Reid slammed online for questioning Donald Trump’s assassination attempt
Users online ripped into Joy Reid after her comments questioning Donald Trump’s assassination attempt injuries.
One posted, “Does anyone listen to Joy's insane babblings anymore?”
Another said, “She’s such an idiot!”
A critic added, “These women make me ashamed to call them women. What they say are all lies and ridiculous. They are caricatures of women or humans, I should say.”

Others chimed in with harsh words, writing, “Reid says she has a brain but there's no proof,” and “How pathetic is she.”
One more user added, “This woman is just an idiot. Nothing more.”
Previous doubts and unanswered questions
This is not the first time Joy Reid has raised concerns. Days after the incident, she speculated on social media that Trump may have been struck by glass rather than a bullet.
On Threads, she wrote, “I have many questions! Like where are the medical reports? What caused Trump’s injury and what was the injury? Sheapnel? Glass? A bullet?”

She also questioned the security breakdown at the rally. “How did the gunman manage to get on the roof of the building where the local police were literally inside?” Reid asked.
Her remarks come as critics continue to debate the details of the shooting, including why Trump remained standing and fist-pumping for the crowd immediately afterward.
