Assaulted McDonald's employee had significant injuries

The police report details that Waden punched the employee several times in the face before other McDonald's workers were able to pull the pastor off him. The assaulted employee was left with significant injuries, including a large bruise to his forehead and right eye as well as several scratches on his neck.

Police reviewed security camera footage from the incident before arresting Waden and charging him with one count of misdemeanor assault and battery. The employee opted to visit the hospital with his family rather than be transported by first responders.

In a statement, the McDonald's franchise owner expressed being appalled by the violence carried out in the restaurant and said that protecting the safety of employees and customers is the company's top concern. Waden's wife, who was training to become a manager, no longer works for McDonald's following the incident.
