Oregon State trooper records car jumping into 200-foot embankment
Fox News reported that Oregon State Police shared a dashcam video of a car accident on Highway 224 on Facebook, blaming it on "distracted driving" by the car's driver.
The video, lasting only four seconds, was captured by a trooper's patrol car and shows a car veering off the road, flying through the air, and plummeting down a 200-foot embankment in what looks like a movie stunt.
According to Fox News, Oregon State Police (OSP) stated on social media, "Distracted Driving Leads to Dramatic Crash."
"A driver in Clackamas County is fortunate to have survived this crash on Hwy. 224 near SE Tong Road. The vehicle drove off the roadway after the driver took their eyes off the roadway and landed approximately 200 feet down an embankment."
Fox News reported that Oregon State Police also said in the post that the driver got out of the vehicle on their own before emergency responders arrived. Rescuers used a rope system to bring the driver up the hill to safety.
The driver was then taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance to treat injuries from the crash.
