WASHINGTON, DC: In a recent Fox News panel discussion, host Howard Kurtz suggested that conservative commentator Ann Coulter "should be in prison" for mocking Gus Walz, the son of Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz, for his emotional response to his DNC speech.

Coulter had ridiculed Gus Walz’s tears during his father's acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention (DNC), labeling his emotional display as "weird."

Controversy erupts over Ann Coulter's mockery of Tim Walz’s emotional moment

Ann Coulter’s comments sparked significant controversy as she labeled Gus Walz’s tears during his father's acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) as “weird” and ridiculed the emotional moment.

In response, Howard Kurtz defended the authenticity of the display, stating, “I should mention before we go to break that Tim Walz’s son, who started crying, this was an emotional moment when his dad got up there. Whether you like the governor of Minnesota or not, that was really something. Anybody criticizing that, we have a picture of that, I think, should be in prison.”

Kurtz also criticized other aspects of the DNC, accusing Democrats of “political theft” regarding the use of American flags at the convention. He remarked, “There is a lot of political theft that was going on... Fortunately, that's not an offense for which anybody can be put in jail on both sides.”

Walz’s oration was a high-stakes moment, as he said, “You might not know it, but I haven’t given a lot of big speeches like this.” Despite his understated approach, the address was anything but modest.

“It’s the fourth quarter,” he declared, invoking the spirit of sports to rally the crowd, “We’re down a field goal. But we’re on offense and we’ve got the ball. We’re driving down the field. And, boy, do we have the right team.”

The highlight of the evening was Tim Walz's son, Gus, whose heartfelt display of emotion captivated many viewers. During his father's speech, Gus was visibly moved, shedding tears of pride and joy.
