Hunter Biden's gun trial: Jury agrees 'it was a mistake' to have Naomi Biden testify in her father's case
WILMINGTON, DELAWARE: The jury in Hunter Biden's gun case expressed sympathy for his daughter Naomi Biden who had to testify during her father’s trial.
Juror number 10 remarked that "it was a mistake" to put her on the stand. He also detailed that "no politics came into play" during the deliberations.
Juror says 'I really don't think that Hunter Biden belongs in jail'
The jury in Hunter's gun case was deadlocked in an initial vote on Monday night, June 10, over whether to convict the president’s son.
The one remaining holdout ultimately agreed that the prosecution had proved that the case was beyond reasonable doubt.
Hunter Biden was found guilty on Tuesday, June 11, all three federal felony gun charges with the jury concluding he violated laws meant to prevent drug addicts from owning firearms.
Despite his decision, Juror 10 expressed sympathy for Hunter Biden family struggling with his addiction and voiced his belief that the president's son does not belong in jail.
"I really don't think that Hunter belongs in jail," Juror 10 told CNN in an interview.
How the juror reach the guilty vote in Hunter Biden's gun trial?
The juror explained that his decision was based on the fact that Hunter did not disclose his addiction when purchasing the gun.
The juror pointed out that Hunter did not want the gun back after Hallie Biden took it and discarded it near a grocery store.
"When he said he did not want that gun back and that gun sat in evidence for almost five years, I think that's what may have been what led to his downfall," Juror 10 said.
Juror 10 stated that it was a mistake to put Naomi Biden, Hunter’s daughter, on the stand and that the "jurors felt bad" she was called to testify.
"No daughter should ever have to testify against her dad," the juror said, according to NBC News.
Although Naomi Biden was a witness for the defense, most jurors felt sorry for the 30-year-old.
Impact of Hunter Biden not testifying and being the president's son
The juror said it didn’t matter to him that Hunter Biden did not testify in his defense, agreeing it was better for him not to take the stand.
"I didn't think it would be a good idea for him to testify in his own defense," the juror said.
He mentioned that politics did not influence the jury's decision, stating that "politics was not even spoken about."
"President Biden never really came into play for me because his name was only brought up once during the trial," the juror added.
"That’s when it kind of sunk in a little bit, like, oh, wow, this is the sitting president’s son who’s on trial," the juror further noted.
Juror 10 reiterated that the focus was on Hunter Biden himself who "was just like anybody else."
The juror reflected on a general sentiment in the courtroom saying, "We all knew he was a drug addict. In his mind, how could he not know he was an addict?”
Hunter Biden's conviction continues to draw mixed reactions
Hunter Biden's decision not to testify drew mixed reactions from internet users. One user on X called him a "coward" for not testifying and subjecting his daughter to do so instead.
"Hunter was a coward and wouldn’t go on the stand, but he subjected his own daughter to do it. What a creep," wrote one on X
One more questioned what he might be hiding by not taking the stand. "But why didn’t Hunter testify, what is he hiding?" asked one.
"Evidently, jurors in the Hunter Biden trial do not live in fear of violence and harassment from the defendant’s allies and supporters. This seems worth noting," wrote another commenter.
"Exactly my thoughts at the time. I knew that would play poorly for any juror who is a father, or maybe I should say a decent father," wrote one more.

Evidently jurors in the Hunter Biden trial do not live in fear of violence and harassment from the defendant’s allies and supporters. This seems worth noting.
