Bidens bashed after Hunter’s defense suggests cocaine residue found could have been Hallie Biden’s
WILMINGTON, DELAWARE: Hunter Biden's defense attorney, Abbe Lowell, has pointed fingers at Hallie Biden, the widow of his late brother Beau Biden, suggesting she might be responsible for the cocaine residue found on Hunter’s gun pouch.
During closing arguments in a federal court in Delaware, Lowell scrutinized text messages exchanged between Hallie and Hunter around the time Hunter purchased the firearm, as per Daily Mail.

"Poor Hallie Biden," Lowell remarked, emphasizing that Hallie had admitted to using drugs while in a relationship with Hunter. He argued that the drug residue on the gun pouch could have been Hallie's, not Hunter’s, stating to the jury, "You don’t know who could have put the drug residue on the pouch."
Jurors began deliberations on Monday afternoon, June 10, to determine whether Hunter should be convicted of illegally obtaining a gun five years ago while using drugs. The case has garnered significant attention as it marks the first instance of criminal charges against a sitting president’s son, according to The Daily Beast.
Hunter, 54, pleaded not guilty to three counts related to lying on a gun application form in October 2018. If convicted, he faces up to 25 years in jail.
Assistant US Attorney Leo Wise, in his closing argument, highlighted the prominent support Hunter has received, including from First Lady Jill Biden and President Joe Biden’s brother, James Biden. However, Wise stressed that this support does not negate the fact that Hunter illegally obtained a gun.
Lowell, in defending Hunter, argued that Biden did not knowingly lie on the form and that prosecutors failed to meet the necessary burden of proof. "There was no actual witness" to Biden’s drug use at the time he purchased the firearm, Lowell pointed out.
Over the course of the trial, three of Hunter’s former partners testified about his prolonged struggle with addiction, providing crucial evidence for the prosecution. Their emotional testimonies aimed to prove that Hunter was indeed addicted to drugs when he purchased the $5,000 firearm.
On the other hand, the defense called only three witnesses, including Hunter’s eldest daughter, Naomi Biden, who testified about her father’s efforts to overcome addiction. Her mother, Kathleen Buhle, who is Hunter’s ex-wife, testified earlier about discovering a crack pipe in their DC home in 2015.
