AWASHINGTON, DC: James Biden's former business associate has consented to enter a guilty plea to charges of plotting to cheat Medicare of $51 million by using a lab testing company that is connected to him, according to the New York Post.

The Justice Department revealed last week in court documents that Keaton Langston had acknowledged billing for needless tests and prescriptions by utilizing pharmacies, manufacturers of durable medical equipment, and a laboratory in which he had a financial stake.

According to a statement from the US Attorney's Office, the pharmacies, DME companies, and laboratory billed Medicare and other health care benefit programs at approximately $51 million for tests and orders. Langston received approximately $10 million from these reimbursements.

James Biden has attempted to disassociate himself from Langston, whose father Joey Langston was also connected to the first brother, even though he has not been charged with any crimes.

In May 2017, Keaton Langston established Fountain Health, a lab firm, and provided its services to Americore Health, a rural hospital operator that subsequently filed for bankruptcy.

Documents reveal that James Biden was involved with Fountain Health in 2017 before associating with Americore, which gave him a $600,000 loan in 2018 with the purported promise to leverage his political ties to attract international investors.

Notably, James allegedly repaid the debt to Joe Biden by giving him $200,000 of the money.

Furthermore, Joey Langston emailed James Biden, his son Keaton, and three other people on July 12, 2017, just after the lab business opened, informing them of an impending "meeting for Fountain Health partners", Politico revealed in February.

Joey Langston wrote, "Jim will report to the group the results of his discussions earlier today with a contact at [Blue Cross Blue Shield]. There will also be discussion about how to proceed with the Union contacts that have been made by Jim and Keaton, within the last two weeks."

Notably, in September, Keaton Langston consented to pay $240,000 to Americore as part of a lawsuit settlement. In 2022, James Biden consented to reimburse Americore $350,000. For many years, the Bidens and the Langstons have had a financial relationship.

According to ProPublica, elder Langston organized fundraisers for Joe Biden during his time as a senator. Additionally, Joey Langston lent James Biden $800,000, with the majority of the payments made toward the close of the Obama-Biden administration in 2016. He informed House impeachment investigators in February that he was only paid back $400,000 of the total.
