DURHAM, NEW HAMPSHIRE: The January 22 episode of 'Fox & Friends' had co-host Steve Doocy join GOP presidential hopeful Nikki Haley on her campaign trail in New Hampshire after Florida Gov Ron DeSantis announced quitting the race the previous day.

Though DeSantis has endorsed former President Donald Trump for the Republican nomination, Haley felt that his supporting voters could be swayed her way.

"I think his supporters are up for grabs," she told Doocy. "Think about it. His supporters love America and they wanted a new generational leader. We give them that."

At present, the former UN Ambassador is the only alternative to Trump in the race but still trails behind him in polls.

Nikki Haley claims Donald Trump is worried about her

In response to Trump labeling her as "a losing candidate who puts America last," the former South Carolina governor asserted that she recognized she was "getting to" him at this stage in the race.

"I know him very well, and the second he feels insecure or the second he feels threatened, he starts lashing out," she stated. "I have said head-to-head, Trump loses to Biden. I win by double digits. This is about 'How do we win in November?' And you know you can't win with Donald Trump. We're going to make sure you win with Nikki Haley."

Nikki Haley has been gaining support from independent voters

As Doocy interacted with the crowd in New Hampshire, many voices were heard in support of Haley.

"I'm glad to see her here. And I think she's got a really good chance," stated a voter.

An independent voter shared that their support for Haley stems from a desire to remove President Joe Biden from the White House and to prevent Trump from securing a second term.

"I think a lot of people are looking for a change in approach, and they're not comfortable with either major candidate."

Haley's campaign has also drawn in support of some heavyweights, such as New Hampshire Republican Gov Chris Sununu and popular TV personality and former Manhattan family court judge Judy Sheindlin.

"It's not just the electability that she brings as the presidency, but we win everything up and down the ballot and that's what we want as Republicans. We're tired of losers. We're tired of losing. Nikki brings a winning attitude to the entire team," Sununu told Fox.
