'I think there are two genders': Czech Dy PM shuts down Hillary Clinton on gender agenda
MUNICH, GERMANY: Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton clashed with Czech Deputy Prime Minister Petr Macinka during a tense exchange after Macinka argued that President Donald Trump rose in part as a reaction to Western policies that went “too far.”
The back-and-forth centered on cultural issues, including gender ideology, climate policies, and what Macinka described as the spread of cancel culture and the “woke revolution.”

“We saw the cancel culture; that’s what we saw, the woke revolution,” Macinka said. “We don’t agree with the gender revolution, the climate alarmism.”

Clinton pushed back immediately, framing the issue as one of women’s rights. “It’s gender, women having their rights,” Clinton said, before another speaker suggested that Macinka should be allowed to finish his point.
Macinka then delivered what became the most widely shared line from the exchange. “I think there are two genders,” he said.
Petr Macinka says gender ideology ‘went too far’
As Clinton and others continued pressing him, Macinka expanded on his view, saying he believes there is “male and female” and that “the rest probably is a social construct.”
“Some of us think that there is more than one or more than two, sorry, more than two gender. I think there is male and female and the rest probably is a social construct. So this is something that went too far.”
“So this is something that went too far,” he added.
The remark appeared to reflect a broader position increasingly voiced by conservative leaders in Europe and the United States, including Trump, who has repeatedly criticized progressive gender policies and argued that biological sex should remain the basis for law, sports, and education.
Hillary Clinton, Petr Macinka spar over Ukraine, gender debate
Clinton attempted to steer the conversation toward foreign policy, questioning whether cultural concerns justify changes in US policy toward Ukraine.
“But does that justify selling out the people of Ukraine who are on the front lines dying to save their freedom and their two genders? Is that what you're worried about?”
Macinka, appearing visibly frustrated, asked to finish his points. “Can I please finish my points?” he said. “I’m sorry that it makes you nervous, I’m really sorry for that.”
Clinton responded that she was not nervous but objected to the argument itself.
The clash showed just how deep the political divide has become in the West.
Many leaders say that issues such as gender policies and strict climate rules have pushed regular people too far and given populist groups a significant boost. Macinka expressed a view that many GOP supporters agree with.
