WASHINGTON, DC: On Monday, Robert F Kennedy Jr, an independent running for the President of the United States, sparked outrage from both sides of the political divide when he said that Donald Trump intended for him to be his vice president, per HuffPost.

A few days after the former president stated on his Truth Social platform that Kennedy was a “much better” alternative for Democrats than President Joe Biden, while also referring to Kennedy as the “most radical left candidate in the race,” Robert F Kennedy Jr made the questionable assertion on X, formerly known as Twitter.

What did RFK Jr say about Donald Trump in his tweet on Monday?

Kennedy posted on Monday in response to the allegation that he is an "ultra-left radical," remarking that he is “soooo liberal that [Trump’s] emissaries asked me to be his VP.”

Kennedy claimed he “respectfully declined the offer,” and further asserted, ”I am against President Trump, and President Biden can’t win.”

“Judging by his new website, it looks like President Trump knows who actually can beat him,” the 70-year-old concluded.

Trump campaign adviser Chris LaCivita came to the former POTUS’ rescue, by posting, “Your a leftie loonie that would never be approached to be on the ticket..sorry!”

Republicans and Democrats alike expressed skepticism about the social media back-and-forth, given that Kennedy, like Trump, has what one could describe as a superficial connection with the truth.

Internet slammed RFK Jr for claiming Trump's campaign asked him to be his VP

People on X shredded the independent presidential candidate for disclosing that former President Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign team reached out to him to pick him as the 77-year-old MAGA strongman’s running mate.

One X user remarked, “In his dream."

Another user wrote, "He should reveal who and when. Questioningly credible otherwise."

Another user argued, "Frankly RFK Jr does help Trump."

One user claimed, "“Allies”??? Give me a break. Trump would have never made a VP decision that early. Only Trump decides who his VP will be. No. One. Else."

Another X user quipped, "If President Trump did ask him to be the VP, it'll mark the moment RFK Jr came closest to the White House."

Finally, this user tweeted, "He says a lot of stuff, like that the covid vaccine isn't good for you. You gonna believe the ravings of a deranged anti-vaxxer?"
