'Prolific liar': Sean Hannity gets slammed as he describes RFK Jr as a 'devout, radical environmentalist'
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: In a fiery opening monologue on his show 'Hannity' on Fox News, host Sean Hannity didn't hold back in dissecting what he described as the "radical" positions of independent presidential candidate Robert F Kennedy Jr.
Hannity wasted no time in characterizing Kennedy as a fervent environmentalist, aligning himself with the likes of Bernie Sanders and his ambitious Green New Deal.
Hannity criticizes RFK Jr's environmentalism and progressive policy proposals
"On the issue of Kennedy, well, he is what he is. He is a devout, radical environmentalist who frequently was heaping praise on Bernie Sanders and his radical Green New Deal. In the past, he's called for a complete ban on fracking," Hannity remarked, setting the tone for what he saw as a platform veering far left of center.
He continued, "He's applauded Obama's limits on oil exploration, tweeting, "#KeepItInTheGround." No, I say bring it out of the ground."
Delving deeper into Kennedy's campaign promises, Hannity highlighted, "Anyway, on his campaign website, RFK, Jr promises to 'protect wild lands from further development by curbing mining, logging, oil drilling, and suburban sprawl', as he calls it. This will undoubtedly drive up the cost of everything, especially housing — and that's not all."
"The Kennedy campaign also has a plan to dismantle the police."
Quoting from RFK Jr's campaign website, Hannity said, "'Kennedy will reorient police to serve, not occupy, Black communities; to keep neighborhoods safe rather than harassing their residents'. There's also a section on Kennedy's website about student loan forgiveness."
He said, "He plans to make 'student debt dischargeable in bankruptcy and cut interest rates on student loans to zero'. Who wants to lend people money and not get interest? Anyway, naturally, small business loans will continue to accrue interest."
Hannity reserved his harshest critique for Kennedy's proposal to slash the US military budget in favor of funding socialized healthcare.
Describing it as a move that would appeal to "bleeding-heart liberals", Hannity framed it as a drastic reallocation of resources with potentially dire consequences.
Turning his attention to Kennedy's running mate, Nicole Shanahan, Hannity portrayed her as a "very wealthy attorney" with strong ties to Silicon Valley and aligned with "far-left Democrat" ideologies.
Notably, Shanahan's stance against in-vitro fertilization was highlighted by Hannity as a point of contention.
In spite of his reservations, Hannity acknowledged, "If you are a left-wing voter, Kennedy frankly gives you all the nutty, Biden-Bernie Sanders, Green New Deal, climate alarmist, religious cult policies, maybe without the corruption and sleaze and the chaos, and he definitely knows what day of the week it is. Got to give him credit for that."
Internet reacts to Hannity's statements
Hannity's statements drew widespread condemnation on social media, with users expressing outrage and disappointment at his apparent disregard for facts.
One person tweeted, "Is the stage show comes to end."
Another tweeted, "Sean who tho? sounds like he needs to subscribe to my OF for some real education fr."
Another tweet read, "No, he just cares. What is wrong with that."
"Says the prolific liar," another tweet read.

"Hannity is a devout right-wing ideologue who is the king of ad hominem illogic," one remarked.
