From 7,000 soldiers to 370 military vehicles: Inside Trump's 'North Korea-style' birthday parade

WASHINGTON, DC: The US Army is all ready to celebrate its 250th birthday on June 14, 2025, which also happens to coincide with the 79th birthday of President Donald Trump.
As per a statement by America 250, the “historic event will commemorate the legacy and enduring strength of the US Army, while looking boldly toward the next 250 years of American patriotism and technological advancement.”

Donald Trump's parade to showcase 250 years of American military's heritage
“The parade will trace the Army’s evolution from the Revolutionary War through to the US Army of Tomorrow. Attendees will experience 250 years of Army heritage through historical US Army personnel reenactors, period-accurate equipment, vehicles, impressive flyovers, and military bands participating in this landmark event,” the official statement added.

The military parade, which will take place on Constitution Ave in Washington, DC, between 15th and 23rd Street and is scheduled to last for three hours, will include 7,000 soldiers and 370 vehicles along with 70 aircraft, the Irish Star reported.
The publication also said that the Commander-in-Chief will probably witness the celebration from a review stand at the edge of the White House ellipse.

Reuters reported that the historic celebration will cost between $25 million to $45 million.
Donald Trump had pushed for military parade previously in 2018
It has been reported that Donald Trump’s always wanted an extravagant military parade, as he pushed for one during his first term in the Oval Office as well. However, the plan was not executed after it was estimated to cost $92 million, as per the Daily Beast.
This year, however, the Republican leader is expected to deliver remarks as America250 claims that under Trump’s government, “the US Army has been restored to strength and readiness.”
At least 200,000 people will be attending the spectacle, and officials have categorized the event as a “national security special event.”
Some critics previously compared the POTUS' dreams to military spectacles seen in dictatorships, like the parades held in honor of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, as per Newsweek.
Military parade deemed 'a fitting tribute' to men and women serving in armed forces

Earlier in May, Col Dave Butler, an Army spokesman, said, as per AP, “We want to make it into an event that the entire nation can celebrate with us. We want Americans to know their Army and their soldiers.”
“A parade might become part of that, and we think that will be an excellent addition to what we already have planned,” Butler added.

Sharing his remark on the upcoming bash, White House Domestic Policy Council Director Vince Haley said a few days ago, “As one of the first events of the year-long celebration of our 250th anniversary, this commemorative parade will be a fitting tribute to the service, sacrifice, and selflessness of the brave men and women who have worn the uniform.”

Tickets are available through America250’s website and will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis, as per The Daily Beast.
