WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump raged on Truth Social earlier this week after CNN anchor Anderson Cooper raised questions about how much damage the air strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities made.

Following this, some insiders went on to claim that the POTUS is obsessed with the CNN host and believes Cooper represents everything Trump has always wanted, according to Radar Online.

Insiders say Trump is 'obsessed with Anderson Cooper'

Trump took to Truth Social on Monday, June 23 and wrote, "The sites that we hit in Iran were totally destroyed, and everyone knows it. Only the Fake News would say anything different in order to try and demean, as much as possible — And even they say they were 'pretty well destroyed!'"

He went on to take a jibe at Cooper, who is gay, and wrote, "Working especially hard on this falsehood is Allison Cooper of Fake News CNN, Dumb Brian L. Roberts, Chairman of “Con”cast, Jonny Karl of ABC Fake News, and always, the Losers of, again, Concast’s NBC Fake News. It never ends with the sleazebags in the Media, and that’s why their Ratings are at an ALL TIME LOW — ZERO CREDIBILITY!"

Trump made the rant after Cooper cited officials who said the main target, the Fordow nuclear facility, was not directly hit by the bombs, even after president claimed the operation to be a "spectacular military success," per Radar Online.

Following this, insiders believe that there may be more to the POTUS' meltdown than what appears to be.

A source close to Trump informed Rob Shuter for his Substack, "He’s obsessed with Anderson. Always has been."

The insider added that Cooper, heir to the Vanderbilt fortune, is everything Trump always wanted in social status, legacy, and elegance.

A different source said, "Trump wanted a seat at that table. The Vanderbilts never let him in. So now, he mocks Anderson to make himself feel bigger."

"He’s not just mad at CNN. He’s mad the blue bloods still don’t see him as one of their own," the insider added.

Interestingly, Cooper's job at CNN seems be on the line, and the TV star is said to already be planning to move to streaming services, per the outlet.

A source close to Cooper earlier said, "This isn’t about ratings, it’s about reinvention. He’s done the nightly grind. Now he wants creativity, ownership, and freedom."

The insider added that Cooper is in serious talks with top streamers, including Amazon, Apple TV+, and Netflix, hoping to make the jump from cable TV to a much more popular platform, the outlet reported.

Anderson Cooper and team forced to evacuate while on air during Iran's missile attack on Tel Aviv

Anderson Cooper and a CNN team were interrupted mid-broadcast as air raid sirens forced them to seek shelter during a live segment from Israel on Monday.

The CNN host was joined by chief international correspondent Clarissa Ward and Jerusalem-based reporter Jeremy Diamond when alerts signaled an imminent missile threat from Iran, the Daily Mail reported.

Moreover, the situation unfolded on air, offering a rare glimpse into the real-time experience of journalists covering conflict zones.

Interestingly, the warning came just hours after Iran launched retaliatory strikes against Israel, following US Operation Midnight Hammer on Iranian nuclear sites.

“I should just say that we're now hearing an alert,” Clarissa Ward alerted the team and audience as sirens wailed in the background.

Cooper explained the situation to viewers, stating that Israeli alerts had issued a ten-minute warning before an expected missile impact.

EW YORK, NEW YORK - MAY 16: Anderson Cooper of CNN attends the trial of former U.S. President Donald Trump for allegedly covering up hush money payments at Manhattan Criminal Court on May 16, 2024 in New York City. Trump was charged with 34 counts of falsifying business records last year, which prosecutors say was an effort to hide a potential sex scandal, both before and after the 2016 presidential election. "So these are the alerts that go out on all of our phones when you're in Israel. It's a ten-minute warning of incoming missiles or something incoming from Iran," he said.

Cooper added, "So now the location we're in has a verbal alarm telling people to go down into bomb shelters. So we have about a ten-minute window to get down into a bomb shelter."
