LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In a recent appearance on Newsmax, South Carolina Republican Representative Nancy Mace voiced her confusion regarding Marjorie Taylor Greene's push to bring a motion to vacate the House speaker seat to the floor this week.

Expressing her skepticism, Mace stated to Newsmax's Rob Schmitt, "She's going to lose. I don't know why she's doing this because the votes aren't there. She's going to lose the motion to vacate, and I don't know why she's doing it."

Support for ousting Mike Johnson grows among Republicans

As of now, only Republican Representatives Paul Gosar of Arizona and Thomas Massie of Kentucky have publicly supported voting to oust Representative Mike Johnson of Louisiana.

However, Schmitt mentioned the possibility of additional supporting votes from Representatives Eli Crane of Arizona and Anna Paulina Luna of Florida.

Responding to these rumors, Mace commented, "I'm hearing the same kinds of rumors. I hope that's not the case. Again, I want us to unite the party and show the American people that we can lead."

Mace emphasized the importance of focusing on key issues facing the nation, such as border security, inflation, and excessive spending, to demonstrate effective leadership.

Greene's justification for ousting Johnson meets Republican pushback

Greene's intention to meet with Johnson on Monday afternoon was reported by The Hill. She cited Johnson's bipartisan approach, particularly on issues like aid to Ukraine, as a reason for his potential disqualification.

However, over the weekend, more Republicans voiced opposition to Greene's plan. Representative Dan Crenshaw of Texas questioned the rationale behind Greene's actions, particularly emphasizing the importance of allowing the democratic process to proceed.

Crenshaw remarked, "And it's based in what exactly? That Mike Johnson brought bills to the floor that were necessary for our national security that the vast majority of members wanted to vote on?"

Johnson, in response to the motion to vacate, indicated on SiriusXM that he doesn't "think too much about" it.

Internet speculates on MTG's motives

Various X users have offered their perspectives on Marjorie Taylor Greene's recent actions, each attributing different motivations to her.

One user wrote, "She’s doing it for publicity. Nancy should know something about this."

Another said, "She's doing it because all she knows how to do is lose."

One user replied, "MTG is doing it because it makes her the center of attention."

One said, "But she's getting attention and that's the only thing that matters."

Another commented, "Because she wants to create chaos, she's a side show." One user replied, "Just spitballing here…. Any possibility that it could be attention-seeking?"
