WASHINGTON, DC: President Joe Biden had a gala time roasting his predecessor, Donald Trump, with a new nickname for him, which he "may use again".

Speaking at the 2024 White House Correspondents' Dinner, the 81-year-old made a comeback against the GOP presumptive nominee with a slew of burning remarks, according to Mediaite.

"I want to thank you for the warm welcome, but please, not so loud. Donald was listening. Sleepy Don. I kind of like that. I may use that again," Biden said at his WHCD speech, drawing laughter from the audience.

The President's remarks stemmed from Trump falling asleep multiple times during his New York hush money trial, which started on April 15. Also, the former President often referred to his successor with the nickname "Sleepy Joe."

Biden takes a swipe at Trump's 'tough days'

Biden brought up concerns about his age and his opponent's age, which became the topic of debate since both announced their bid for the 2024 race, but with a tinge of mockery.

"Of course, the 2024 election is in full swing. And yes, age is an issue," he said. "I'm a grown man running against a six-year-old." Biden is already the oldest president the US has ever had. Meanwhile, Trump, who is 77 years old, is not far behind.

The octogenarian also commented on the billionaire ex-president's recent rally speech in Pennsylvania where he described the Battle of Gettysburg as "so beautiful." According to Biden, the speech "was so embarrassing that the statue of Robert E Lee surrendered again."

Further into the speech, the commander-in-chief pointed at the differences in the current state of his GOP opponent in light of his legal battles and opposition to his race from his former aides.

"But look, age is the only thing we have in common. My Vice President actually endorses me," Biden mocked, referring to former Vice President Mike Pence's refusal to endorse Trump for the 2024 presidential election.

"I had a great stretch since the State of the Union. But Donald has had a few tough days lately. You might call it Stormy Weather," he continued.

The criminal trial against the former president is underway for falsifying business records to hide hush money payments to adult film actress Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election to silence her about their alleged sexual encounter.

"What the hell? Trump so desperate he started reading those Bibles he's selling. Then he got to the first commandment. 'You shall have no other gods before me.' That's when he put it down and said, this book's not for me," Biden roasted Trump, citing his new business of selling the 'God Bless the USA Bible' at $59.99
