LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In a bold move that's earning him widespread praise online, actor Alan Ritchson, best known for his role in the hit Prime Video series 'Reacher,' has spoken out against former President Donald Trump and addressed the support he maintains among some Christian groups.

Ritchson's candid comments came in a recent cover story for The Hollywood Reporter, where the actor didn't mince words while discussing his religious beliefs and the concerning trends he sees within his faith community.

Alan Ritchson expresses disbelief over Trump's popularity among Christian circles

"Trump is a rapist and a con man, and yet the entire Christian church seems to be treat him like he's their poster child, and it's unreal. I don't understand it," Ritchson stated bluntly.

In 'Reacher,' Ritchson plays the titular role of Jack Reacher, a no-nonsense ex-military cop known for his ability for uncovering truths and delivering justice.

This month, Ritchson will also feature in Guy Ritchie's directorial 'Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare,' starring alongside Henry Cavill.

Ritchson's outspoken stance on social issues is not new. In 2020, he made headlines when an Instagram post of him wearing a t-shirt demanding justice for Breonna Taylor, a 26-year-old Black woman killed by police during a drug raid gone wrong in Louisville, Kentucky, went viral.

The 41-year-old actor's picture in question attracted notice because of the show's widespread appeal among certain right-wing groups.

Addressing the controversial post in the The Hollywood Reporter interview, Ritchson doubled down on his stance, stating, "That was a tragic case. Cops get away with murder all the time, and the fact that we can't really hold them accountable for their improprieties is disturbing to me... I mean, you shouldn't have to spend more time getting an education as a hairstylist than as a cop who's armed with a deadly weapon."
