LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: After a heated debate between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump, conservative commentator Tomi Lahren criticized CNN's handling of the event on Twitter.

Lahren's remarks ignited a flurry of discussions on social media, with many interpreting her comments as an accusation that CNN deliberately set Biden up for failure, rather than assisting him as some had suggested.

CNN moderators accused of sabotage instead of support

Shortly after the debate, Lahren tweeted, "Some folks giving CNN moderators a lot of credit and I get it. BUT This was part of the plan. They didn’t throw Joe a lifeline because AS IVE BEEN SAYING they DO NOT WANT JOE! They simply ALLOWED him to sink. It wasn’t because they suddenly have a vested interest in 'fairness,' it’s because they wanted Joe to FAIL in front of the WORLD. Bait and Switch Time."

The essence of Lahren's argument centers on the notion that CNN's moderators did not provide Biden with favorable treatment or assistance during the debate.

Instead, she asserts that the questions posed to Biden were strategically crafted to exacerbate his challenges, thereby hindering his performance rather than aiding it.

Biden's momentary pause misconstrued amid applause and cheers

Another incident that intensified discussions about Biden's performance and mental sharpness involved a viral video allegedly showing him freezing on stage during a Los Angeles fundraiser. The footage sparked concerns about Biden's capability to manage public appearances effectively.

However, attendees and members of Biden's administration swiftly rebutted these claims, providing an alternative explanation. According to their accounts, the president paused momentarily to acknowledge cheers and applause following a sit-down session with former President Barack Obama and comedian Jimmy Kimmel.

Social media reactions highlight conspiracy theories and criticisms

After the recent debate involving President Biden, social media platforms were abuzz with a range of reactions, spanning from conspiracy theories to direct criticisms of the event's dynamics.

One user wrote, "It was a trap. And not one moment of mourning for their guy. Ruthless."

Another user commented, "I think everyone would agree that Biden had the debate questions ahead of time just like clinton had!" [sic]

One commented, "Time for Republicans to do the same and switch out Trump!."

Another user replied, "This was a setup!! Nothing but diabolical theatrics!!"

One user commented, "I was actually expecting state of the union biden. This was shocking and obviously meant to highlight the issue before the convention." [sic]

One added, "They were both given paper and pen to take notes but I’m guessing his had writing on it." [sic]
