LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Recently, the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA) authorities were met with somewhat bizarre demands from the students, who requested shields, helmets, zip ties, etc., as the demonstrations turned violent on Wednesday, May 1.

These requests sent ripples through social media, urging many individuals to ponder whether the protesters were preparing to go head-to-head with the authorities. On the other hand, numerous social media users called for the immediate arrest of the students.

UCLA protestors demand shields and zip ties among other bizarre items

According to the New York Post, the anti-Israel protesters set up camp at the University of California, Los Angeles, and put out a strange list of things they needed, some of which were labeled "urgent".

They reportedly asked for things like skater helmets, shields, wood for barriers, and elbow and knee pads to support their UCLA Palestine Solidarity Encampment. In a Google Doc shared on social media, the students also requested medical supplies, food, and sleeping bags.

X (formerly Twitter) user Colin Rugg shared a screenshot of the list of requested items in a post.

The campers from Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) at UCLA are taking a firm stand. Their message read, "We will remain here until our demands are met."

The protesters also demanded utility gloves “without reinforced knuckles” in different sizes, specifically mentioning they needed pairs for small hands which caused hilarity to spread on social media.

Other items included rope, zip-ties, electric and solar-powered generators, Epi-Pens, inhalers, lotion, and Aquaphor.

A separate list outlined items banned from entering the campus, including packaged food, coffee, bagels, bananas, and nuts.

The list also suggested that sunscreen was prohibited for campers and the SJP only allowed vegan and gluten-free food to be granted entry in the campus, with a request for “hot food for lunch" specified in the document.

Internet says UCLA protestors should get ready for prison food

The internet blasted the protestors at UCLA for their "creepy" demands and asked them to get ready for prison.

A social media user wrote, "You get nothing except a one way ticket to the Middle East or a jail cell. These people literally set up check points and threaten innocent people who have nothing to with their protest. These people are in the wrong and a danger to innocent people."

Another wrote, "Even there demands are creepy."

One person commented, "Cut Wi-Fi and electricity. ASAP!"

Another noted, "They should get ready for prison food!"

One individual asked, "Do they plan to hold people hostage? Well, this isn't suspicious. Demanding supplies? Who tf do these entitled 💩's are?!"
