LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: President Donald Trump made his first presidential trip on Friday, January 24, along with first lady Melania Trump, as they visited disaster-stricken areas in California and North Carolina.

While the Trumps surveyed the disaster zones, speculation about Melania's appearance garnered attention across social media, where some claimed she didn't look like the first lady.

Melania Trump spotted in a different look evoking wild theories

During a Friday NewsMax interview with Trump, Melania was seen in a large, army-green down coat, a black beanie, and Ray-Ban sunglasses, according to The List.

Due to her appearance, many people on the internet believed that the president has brought a 'fake' first lady to California and many chimed in on X (formerly Twitter) to drop their views.

Notably, the wild Melania conspiracy theory has been in existence since Trump's first presidential term in 2017 when some X users went wild over a viral clip of the couple where Melania didn't look like herself in an outing with Trump.

Moreover, many believed that when Trump said during the interview, "My wife Melania, who happens to be right here", it was a cover up to the truth.

Meanwhile, during his recent California visit, Trump was greeted by California Governor Gavin Newsom with a hug and welcomed Melania before addressing the media together.

Newsom said, "We’re gonna need your support, we’re gonna need your help. You were there for us during COVID, I don’t forget that, and I have all the expectations that we’ll be able to work together."

The president responded, "We’re gonna get it done. We’ll get it worked out, ok?"

Donald Trump brought 'fake Melania' to polling sites, claims internet

In November 2024, social media exploded with hilarious conspiracy theories on Election Day, accusing Trump of bringing a "fake Melania" to polling sites.

In viral videos and photos, Melania was pictured all smiles walking out with the president. She also appeared to keep her dark sunglasses on at all times during the ballot-casting visit in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Many internet users claimed it was the 'fake' Melania. A user wrote on X, "Umm, that is NOT Melania. Sorry. I’m not buying it. Whoever was at the polls today with Don, WASN’T MELANIA. I guess the check bounced."

Another person mentioned, "The thing is, she doesn’t even look like Melania. The gigantic shades are a dead giveaway," while one added, "I’m excited that he brought Fake Melania back one last time for his series finale."
