WASHINGTON, DC: Chris Hayes highlighted Joe Biden's "emphatic" declaration that he has to "finish the job" as a significant moment from the president’s recent press conference during the Friday, July 12 episode of MSNBC's 'All In'.

Hayes shared with a panel of MSNBC hosts that he found the incumbent's statement "remarkable," noting they provided insight into his mindset amidst calls for him to demonstrate his leadership capability or consider stepping aside.

Chris Hayes compares Joe Biden's political situation to a World Series pitcher

Chris Hayes said, "I’ve been comparing him to a World Series star starter in the seventh game of the World Series who’s got four outs left to get in a close game that’s thrown 120 pitches."

He remarked that when the baseball team’s manager approaches the mound to remove the pitcher, "they never want to leave." "They curse into their glove ... they fight it," pointed out Hayes.

The political commentator added, "That to me ... was an honest articulation of where all this motivation’s coming from, even if he’s not correct about his own political prospects. Or in denial about the inexorable trajectory of being a human being who is mortal, like we all are. That was, to me, clarifying."

At the conclusion of the NATO summit on Thursday, Biden held a solo press conference.

Reaffirming his commitment to his reelection bid, the incumbent asked in the press conference whether people believe "democracy is under siege," citing recent Supreme Court decisions, the Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025, and former President Donald Trump’s intentions for a second term.

"We’ve never been here before. And that’s the other reason why I didn’t, as you say, hand off to another generation. I’ve got to finish this job. I’ve got to finish this job because there’s so much at stake," told Biden to the reporters.

Internet reacts to Chris Hayes' remarks on Joe Biden's solo press conference

Chris Hayes' comments regarding Joe Biden's recent press conference left the netizens divided.

One said, "'Finish the job' is a hackneyed expression that is used by every president running for re-election. What ridiculous nonsense."

"Biden is diminished. Put someone in the game that can win and be a real leader, not a puppet," expressed a person. Someone else noted, "Well... no one cares what Chris Hayes thinks so there's that."

One attacked Hayes, saying, "Are you a psychologist today, Chris? Yesterday, you were a neurologist. The day before, you were a therpist, and the day prior, you were Ms. Cleo with a crystal ball. Can't wait to see what you'll be tomorrow."

"Sounds like 'All out without Chris Hayes' to me," wrote another person.
