WASHINGTON, DC: MSNBC host Chris Hayes raised concerns about President Joe Biden’s chances of winning in the upcoming election on Wednesday, July 10, suggesting that he is "increasingly likely to lose reelection" to former President Donald Trump.

His comments were in response to George Clooney’s recent New York Times op-ed, which advocated for the incumbent to step down and allow a new Democratic nominee to take his place.

Chris Hayes says Joe Biden might lose to Donald Trump due to his age

Hayes elaborated on his position, saying, "Joe Biden is a decent man who, like I said, has done nothing wrong. He hasn’t been caught in a scandal, he is just aging, and that reality makes him, I think, increasingly likely to lose reelection to a Republican candidate who, again, is just a few years younger."

He added, "We’re gonna be in the same boat a few years from now if we elect him – and who has done a lot wrong, a shocking amount wrong, and has promised to do more wrong if he wins."

Hayes pointed out that there's a notable lack of discussion among Republicans about whether Trump should step aside, despite his numerous controversies.

He remarked, "And again, there is no conversation about whether he [Trump] should drop out because that candidate’s party is too afraid to ask him to step aside or do anything against him because any suggestion from any Republican that Donald Trump should step aside for the good of the party or the country or face accountability for his many crimes and sins is met with rabid rhetorical attacks, excommunication, and often death threats."

Internet reacts to Chris Hayes' prediction regarding Joe Biden-Donald Trump matchup

Netizens were quick to mock Hayes as his comments about Biden’s age and the Republican Party’s treatment of Trump came to light.

One wrote, "Just a few weeks ago people like Chris in the media were yucking it up :)," and another wrote, "MSNBC's Chris Hayes is a magat Republican right Democrats?"

"Tools like Hayes, Maddow, and Reid helped to make people sick of hearing about Trump. They turned democrats against Joe Biden," claimed a person.

"Chris Hayes aka The Hamburglar," quipped someone else.

"Now the media chooses our presidential candidates. This is a media coup," fumed an individual, while one more added, "Biden is NOT going to suddenly become a rocket scientist. He' ONLY going to get WORSE."

"Liberals are nothing but whiny little babies. Always freaking out. Man up, wimps," commented another person. A netizen stated, "Shut up , Hayes. He just had a bad night."
