WASHINGTON, DC: Hillary Clinton has criticized former President Donald Trump while saying that it is "impossible" to debate him.

She also offered advice to President Joe Biden ahead of his upcoming debate with Trump, drawing from her own experiences during the 2016 campaign.

Hilary Clinton calls Donald Trump’s debate tactics 'nonsense and blather'

Clinton argued that debating Trump disrupts any attempt to focus on substance. She shared how his tactics are designed to throw his opponents off balance.

"I know the excruciating pressure of walking onto that stage and that it is nearly impossible to focus on substance when Mr Trump is involved," Clinton wrote in opinion article of the New York Times.

"It is a waste of time to try to refute Mr Trump’s arguments like in a normal debate. It’s nearly impossible to identify what his arguments even are," Clinton wrote in an opinion article.

Reflecting on her experience in the 2016 town hall debate, Clinton recalled moments when Trump walked near her as she spoke.

"He interrupts and bullies — even stalking me around the stage at one point — because he wants to appear dominant and throw his opponent off balance," said Clinton, Fox News reports.

She described Trump’s arguments as starting with "nonsense" and digressing into "blather," and noted, "This has gotten only worse in the years since we debated."

Hilary Clinton says expectations from Donald Trump in the debate are 'so low'

Clinton's essay advises President Biden to approach the debate by being "direct and forceful," predicting that Trump’s strategies would “fall flat” if Biden mirrors his approach from the State of the Union address in March.

Clinton advised those watching the debate to focus on three aspects: how each candidate talks about people, whether they focus on the fundamentals and the choice between “chaos and competence.”

Referring to Trump’s recent conviction involving hush money paid to adult film actor Stormy Daniels, Clinton said the choice between  "a convicted criminal out for revenge and a president who delivers results" was “easy” regardless of the debate’s outcome.

Her closing remarks in the essay were sharp, predicting that expectations for Trump are so low that "if he doesn’t literally light himself on fire on Thursday evening, some will say he was downright presidential."

Internet reacts to Hilary Clinton’s comments weighing on Donald Trump-Joe Biden debate

The essay sparked diverse reactions online with users sharing mixed views. Some saw Clinton's comments as an admission of Trump's superior debating skills.

"Hillary Clinton concedes that Trump is far superior in the realm of debate. Shocking admission," wrote one user on X. Another added, "He’s probably the best debater in our lifetime."

Others supported Clinton's perspective, agreeing that Trump’s debate style is disruptive and lacks substance.

One user argued, "Hillary is right. That is what someone says when they know the opponent will poke totally valid holes in all of their lies."

Critics didn’t hold back with some calling her a "coward" and using terms like "words of a loser."

Others defended her, stating, "She says that because she knows the lies won’t work against him."
