LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel has once again mocked former president Donald Trump and his loyal supporters. This time, the host of 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' trolled a peculiar trend emerging among the MAGA supporters.

In a recent segment on his show, Kimmel highlighted a new symbol of solidarity with Trump among his supporters -- the upside-down American flag.

Upside-down US flag gains traction among Trump supporters

This trend gained traction after Donald Trump faced conviction in New York on a staggering 34 felony charges, prompting some of his followers to display inverted flags as a sign of support.

Kimmel humorously remarked on the situation, noting that even prominent figures like Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene had joined in, sharing a picture of her own upside-down flag.

“Turning the flag upside down now has become a symbol of solidarity with Trump,” Kimmel said.

However, he couldn't resist adding a playful jab, questioning whether Greene's gesture was a deliberate protest or simply a case of not knowing which way was up.

“We’re unsure if she meant it as a protest or just doesn’t know which way is right-side up,” he said.

Trump's profitable ploy: exploiting the upside-down flag trend

"But lots of other Trumpers have been posting these upside-down Flags in support of their orange Jesus who of course has already come up with a way to make money off this," Kimmel remarked in his segment.

True to form, Kimmel didn't miss the opportunity to lampoon Trump's readiness to capitalize on any situation. He shared a mock ad featuring the former president offering a special upside-down flag, presumably as merchandise for his devoted followers.

"The worst president in the history of our country... just when you think he's going to Zig, he ziggs," Kimmel quipped, capturing Trump's polarizing nature with his characteristic wit.

Social media commentary on the upside-down flag trend among MAGA supporters

Amidst the uproar over the upside-down flag phenomenon, social media became a battleground of contrasting opinions.

One social media user said, "It makes sense that MAGAs would fly the American flag upside down on Earth 2."

Another added, "The upside down flag represents what the Republican Party is, and what the Republican Party has become under Trump."

One person wrote, "Probably a market for pre-turned upside down flags, since the base buys whatever the orange guy sells."

Another said, "It used to be that Republicans were big on respecting the flag. Just something else that has gone away, along with respect for our government institutions. Fealty to Trump is above all. Oh, but it's not a cult."

One individual noted, "NOTHING...... ABSOLUTELY NOTHING is more zany and hilarious than the world of politics. However the sad thing is the joke is on US people......."
